In the late 1800s and early 1900s, it was illegal in many American cities to appear in public of you were considered 'unsightly', 'deformed', poor, or disabled.

These were known as Ugly Laws --- and like many laws in history, enforcement often came down to the discretion of b whoever was in charge, which meant power, bias, and personal opinion often decided who was allowed to exist in public.

This is a hidden chapter of history --- and its affects are still felt today.

Scientific racism was used to justify slavery, colonization, eugenics, and even genocide --- all under the false claim of 'science'.

These ideas were taught as fact for generations, and their damage did not disappear when the theories were finally disproven. We still live with the consequences today.

This is a hidden chapter of history --- and understanding it helps us understand the world we live in now.

I've been "seeing things" out of the corner of my eye a lot lately. And, when this happens, I feel so much closer to truly seeing beyond the veil.

The truth is, we are not separated by much. It's our human mind that can't conceive of things it can't see, touch, taste, or feel.

Learning to"see" beyond the barriers the physical world creates around us is not easy, but it is Magickal. The more you nurture this side of yourself, the more natural or will feel to tap into those gifts.
