October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this week Trojan Outreach is shedding light on relationship violence, breaking the silence, and protecting our Trojan family ⚔️

Relationship abuse isn’t always physical, and it isn’t always obvious. Statistics show that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men experience intimate partner violence. That means Every 1 Knows 1—whether it’s a friend, classmate, or ourselves.

Love shouldn’t feel like control 🚩 Swipe through to learn how to identify the subtle warning signs of unhealthy controlling behaviors versus the green flags of a healthy relationship.

📌 Remember: Trust your gut. If something feels wrong in your relationship or a friend’s, support is always available.

🗓️ What’s coming up this week:

Tomorrow: Digital Boundaries & Tech Safety 📱
Thursday: — Wear purple to stand with survivors! 💜

Changing the narrative starts with starting the conversation. 💬💙

One of the most common fears when someone is struggling is, “What if asking makes it worse?” But research and experts consistently show that asking someone directly if they are thinking about su***de does not put the idea in their head—it opens the door to help, relieves heavy isolation, and can literally save a life.

This week for Su***de Prevention Awareness, let’s break the silence and remove the stigma around direct, honest dialogue. You don’t have to have all the answers; you just have to be willing to listen and show up.

📲 Action Item for Today: Take 10 seconds right now to save 988 in your phone contacts. You never know when having that number ready could make all the difference for yourself or a friend.
-988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 (Free, confidential, 24/7 available in the US & Canada).
-Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
