Our last few farm tours of the season are buzzing by, and these two are taking their new skills on the road! ✈️🐝 They’re headed to Iowa, where they’ll be starting their very own hives next spring. 🌻🍯

We’re pretty sure they’re officially ready to "bee" in charge. 😉

As we start pulling honey frames, our farm tour season is officially winding down! We loved hosting another fantastic group of Kansans today to share the critical role honeybees play in pollination and securing our food supply. 🐝🍯

You are never too old—or too young—to fall in love with honeybees! 🍯🐝

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting a grandmother-granddaughter duo for a farm tour recently. This brave 6-year-old was a little hesitant at first, but once we opened up a hive and saw the magic inside, her eyes lit up. Safe to say we might have a future beekeeper on our hands!

Stepping inside a hive gives you a whole new appreciation for just how intelligent these little creatures are and how vital they are for pollinating our local flowers, crops, and mountain ecosystems. 🌸🍎

Buzzing with excitement over here! 🐝✨

We are so thrilled to share that our very own Town of Truckee is officially a Bee City USA affiliate! 💛

This whole journey started back in 2024 when some incredible, passionate students from the Tahoe Expedition Academy brought the idea to the Town. Fast forward to this spring, when our friends at the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) stepped up to sponsor the program and form a local Bee Committee. Last Tuesday, Truckee Town Council made it official!

As local beekeepers and honey lovers, seeing our community commit to protecting native pollinators through habitat enhancement, education, and sustainable land practices means the absolute world to us. More flowers, safer habitats, and healthier bees make for a much sweeter Truckee! 🌸🌼

Huge thanks to the TEA students, TINS, and everyone working to keep our local ecosystem thriving. Let’s keep planting, protecting, and supporting our favorite little buzzers! 🍯👇

🐝🍯 Happy National Honey Bee Day!

What began in 2009 as a push by U.S. beekeepers for formal recognition has grown into a nationwide celebration of bees, beekeepers, honey lovers, and pollinator advocates. Held each year on the third Saturday in August, it’s a chance to appreciate the tiny workers behind so much of our food.

Honey bees help pollinate about one-third of U.S. food crops—including apples, almonds, and blueberries—and contribute billions to American agriculture every year.

Every healthy backyard hive plays a meaningful role in that bigger story. Here’s to the beekeepers, the pollinators, and the sweet impact they make. 💛
