Melanoma Awareness Month is a reminder that protecting your skin goes far beyond sunscreen and beach days. Early detection can make all the difference.
One of the most important things you can do is pay attention to changes in your skin. Watch for:
• Moles that change in size, shape, or color
• Spots with uneven borders or multiple colors
• New growths that look different from the rest
• Areas that itch, bleed, or won’t heal

A helpful guide is the ABCDE rule:
A — Asymmetry
B — Border irregularity
C — Color changes
D — Diameter larger than a pencil eraser
E — Evolving over time

Our owner Danielle Moser, PA-C diagnosed with melanoma at age 28 — 25 years ago — and it’s a reminder of just how important yearly skin exams truly are. Knowing what to look for & staying consistent with regular checks by your doctor could save your life.
