Lammas, also known as Lughnasadh, is a beautiful time for the solitary practitioner to pause and honour the first harvest, giving thanks for the abundance, growth, and lessons the year has already brought. Light a gold, orange, or yellow candle to represent the warmth of the Sun and the ripening fields, then spend a few quiet moments reflecting on the seeds you planted earlier in the year both in your magical practice and in your everyday life. Consider what has flourished, what still needs nurturing, and what you’re ready to release as the Wheel continues to turn. Offer a piece of bread, oats, or grain to the Earth in gratitude for her generosity, recognising the balance of giving and receiving that sustains all life. As you enjoy a simple harvest feast or a slice of freshly baked bread, speak words of thanks for the blessings you have received and set an intention to carry gratitude, resilience, and abundance into the coming months. Close your ritual with the affirmation: “With gratitude in my heart and abundance in my spirit, I honour the first harvest. May the fruits of my labour continue to grow, may wisdom guide my path, and may the blessings of the Earth remain with me. So mote it be.”
Blessed be
