This morning, The Center members visited over 15 informative stations covering blood pressure, nutrition, health literacy, stress management, preventive screenings, and community resources. It was a fantastic opportunity for members to ask questions, deepen their health and wellness knowledge, and connect with local support.

Congratulations to JD Young’s Copy Diem team on 2nd Place at Center Experience 2026! 🥈 We’re grateful for JD Young’s support as an Awareness Sponsor and for being such a great community partner. A special shoutout to Fernando for joining us as a Center Ambassador for the first time this year!

The Center Experience is an incredible team-building event that brings together more than 20 teams from across the Tulsa region to experience adaptive activities and gain a greater appreciation for the everyday challenges faced by individuals with physical disabilities.

A little calm before the rain! 🚲🌧️

Frailey and Anthony led The Center members for a morning of adaptive mountain biking at Bike Club Tulsa Headquarters. Our staff joined the group for a morning on the trails with our community partners at Bike Club Tulsa.

Today, The Center staff completed orientation and mobility training with Debbie Eagle and Jane Landsau from the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services.

The training focused on supporting people who are blind or visually impaired and helping The Center members become familiar with and navigate our facility.

What a day at The Center!

Center Experience brought teams from across Tulsa together for a day of adaptive activities, friendly competition and a firsthand look at the programs and services that make The Center such a special place.

Teams rotated through activities featuring Power Soccer, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, Sport Relay, Fitness Relay, Wheelchair Basketball, Youth Services and Transition Services, giving participants a chance to experience a small part of what The Center has to offer.

A big thank you to Move United Sport for supporting power soccer at The Center! ⚽️

Grant funding has helped enhance our program with equipment, supplies and opportunities for The Center members and veterans to learn, practice and compete in this adaptive sport.

From practices in the Hardesty Family Adaptive Sport Complex to scrimmages and tournaments, this support has helped more athletes get on the court and play.

We’re grateful for the support and excited to keep growing power soccer at The Center. More to come in 2027!

Last Friday brought a full day of activity to The Center for Tulsa Area United Way Day of Caring.

Each year, Day of Caring brings new faces to The Center and gives volunteers the opportunity to see and support the work happening here.

Thank you to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma , Commerce Bank , Ethos Architects, Inc. and our Board members for spending the day with us.

Blue Cross Blue Shield volunteers helped staff our Center Classic Boccia Tournament, where The Center athletes competed throughout the day. Congratulations to our tournament finishers:

Female Open: Tempest Helton, 1st; Angie Caywood, 2nd; Mary Beaker, 3rd.

Male Open: Clinton Crumpton, 1st; Lee Jennings, 2nd; Keith Kern, 3rd.

Mixed Division: Elijah Pate, 1st; Victoria Jennings, 2nd; Emily Bowers, 3rd.

At our Wheeling location, Ethos Architects and Commerce Bank worked on painting projects to help improve the space. Our Board members also hosted their annual Board Cookout, cooking and serving lunch for The Center members.
