People sometimes assume I’m a ball of sunshine.
And well, I am lololol.
But not because I only “think positive thoughts” or avoid hard things.
Nope. I face them head on.
Did you know that Buffalo walk toward a storm when they sense it coming? They instinctively trust their herd will get through it.
This is the same for us too when we sense conflict either internally or externally.
Neuroception (our ability to scan for safety) gets biased toward looking for threats when we’ve experienced too much stress over a long period of time.
Having to pause and be with myself like this— rocking, holding my arms while I cry— is how I sew my neuroception back together so it learns it can also seek safety.
Chasing distractions, addictions or constant reassurance from people is a form of overprotection.
We learn just how powerful we are when we face our storms head on. And the sooner we face the storms, the sooner joy can come over with all her glitter 🪩
Feeling seen? I get it, I’ve been there too.
Here’s how to work together👇
