Ceferina is currently accepting tattoo requests for appointments through March 2026. If you feel aligned with her work and artistic vision, she would love to hear from you. Please review the booking information carefully before submitting your request.

Ceferina is seeking projects, large and small, that continue to push her artistic abilities. Every request is thoughtfully considered, so there is no need to hold back if an idea does not fit neatly into the categories below.

• Large-scale projects (sleeves, back pieces, full torso)
• Animal portraits (pets or animals in general)
• Fantasy and bookish themes (Dungeons and Dragons characters, book lore, creatures from campaigns or favorite stories)
• Illustrative work (bold linework, soft shading, and a strong narrative feel)
• Folklore, mythology, and magic (pieces that feel like rituals, relics, or spells)
• Blackwork botanicals

That said, Ceferina remains open to a wide range of ideas. If a concept resonates and feels connected to her style, she welcomes hearing about it. These themes simply reflect what she is most excited to explore at the moment.

🪦It’s time for our annual Graveyard Gamble!

October 24-25th from 11am-10pm. Coffee provided by the amazing .

We have 100 designs ranging from $100-300. Play our “get what you get” game, or choose your own from 100 designs.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Last year’s graveyard has been laid to rest. We swung a sword, smashed it to pieces, and built something bigger and better.

The new Graveyard Gamble is here with over 100 tattoos, prizes, and a few surprises hiding under the graveyard.

Here’s how it works:
Choose either $100 or $200, then lift a tombstone. Find your matching design on the flash sheets and that’s the tattoo you get. If you want to tempt fate again, toss in $20 and pull another.

Not feeling lucky? You can pay an extra $100 and choose any design from the sheets instead.
Your call—fate or free will.

The event runs Friday, October 24th and Saturday, October 25th, from 11 AM to 10 PM.

Our friends at Voyager Espresso (https://voyagerespresso.com/) will be serving Halloween-themed coffee and drinks on Friday, and we’ll have snacks available both days.
Show up in costume for an extra prize.

We accept cash and card for this event.

We’re kicking off our Midsummer Get-What-You-Get Flash Event today from 12–8pm, and again tomorrow, same time. To honor the spirit of the game, we’re keeping most of the flash designs under wraps, but here’s a small glimpse of 6 out of 100 to give you a feel for the vibe.

All designs are medieval and fantasy-inspired, drawn by Cody, Ceferina, and Danielle. If you’re curious, you’re welcome to stop by and see the full collection in person.

The Tale Continues at Morning Star

A fallen knight lies in silence, pierced by twenty golden daggers. Only selfless hands can lift them. Will yours be one of them?

We’re excited to invite you to our second Midsummer Get-What-You-Get Flash Event at Morning Star Tattoo in Olympia, Washington.

This year’s designs are medieval and fantasy-inspired, created by Cody, Ceferina, and Danielle. Instead of the gumball machine, you’ll face a new challenge — draw a golden dagger from the body of a fallen knight to reveal your fate.

Event Details

The Midsummer Flash Event will be held June 20th and 21st, from 12 PM to 8 PM at Morning Star Tattoo in Olympia, Washington. Guests will have the chance to pull a dagger from the knight and reveal a number tied to one of over sixty original fantasy and medieval-themed designs, priced at $100 or $200 (cash and card accepted).

For those unwilling to leave their fate to chance, an additional $100 allows you to choose any design from the full collection. If you're not satisfied with your first pull, you may redraw for $20, up to three times.

Each tattoo will be done in black and grey, or with up to two colors. Placement is limited to arms and legs only, and no changes will be made to the original designs. This is a first-come, first-served event, open to guests 18 and older with valid photo ID.

Those arriving in Renaissance faire/fantasy garb will be handsomely rewarded.
And on Friday, enjoy coffee from our friends at Voyager Espresso (https://www.voyagerespressolacey.com/) .

Midsummer Get-What-You-Get Flash Event
Morning Star Tattoo – Olympia, WA
June 20–21 | 12pm–8pm

It’s ren faire season, and we needed one more excuse to dress up. So we’re throwing our annual Midsummer Get-What-You-Get Tattoo Event!

We’ve created over 60 medieval and fantasy-themed tattoo designs, drawn by Cody, Ceferina, and Danielle. Prices range from $100–$300.

Leave it to chance and draw your fate—or pay a bit more to choose your own from the sheets.

We’ve also retired the gumball machine and built a brand-new knight diorama, in the spirit of our Halloween graveyard setup.

Dress in your finest ren faire garb and get an extra reward at the event.

On Friday, enjoy coffee served by Voyager Espresso ().

All tattoos are for arms and legs only. First come, first served. Designs can be in color or black and grey.

🌈Midsummer Flash Event

A fallen knight lies motionless on a nameless battlefield, half-buried by time and earth.

We know that everyone loves our Halloween Graveyard Diorama, so we just had to make something similar for our yearly Midsummer Event. I can't give any secrets away yet, but you won't want to miss this.

For those of you who are new:
Every summer we host a medieval themed Get-What-You-Get Tattoo Flash Event. This year we will have 60+ new designs created by Cody, Ceferina, and Danielle. Prices range from $100-300 and all pieces include color and/or shading. No appointment's necessary. Don't like leaving things to chance? Pay extra to choose your own from the collection of medieval themed designs.

Our good friends at Voyager Espresso (https://www.voyagerespressolacey.com/) will be handing out themed drinks on Friday!

Over the last month, I’ve been slowly updating and refining the flash designs available in the shop. A few older ones have been retired, and plenty of new ones have taken their place. There’s still a lot left to do, but it feels good to have made progress.

You’ll also notice something new when you check out:
Every design now includes a color option.
No more black and grey only — if you want it in color, you’ve got the choice.

These updates have been a long time coming, and I’m glad to finally have them live. If you haven’t browsed in a while, it might be worth taking another look.

The Banner Unfurls — What Comes Next

Ceferina’s Books Are Open

From Sunday, April 20th through Sunday, April 27th, Ceferina will be reviewing new booking requests.

This is a rare window open to everyone, including those she hasn’t tattooed before. If you’ve been waiting to work with her, now’s your chance to share your idea.

Her books fill quickly, and once this window closes, she won’t be reviewing requests again until the end of August.

Requests are not guaranteed to be accepted, so be thoughtful, clear, and specific with your idea.

(Cody and Danielle’s books remain open year-round.)

From the Ashes, a New Banner Rises.

After years under the name Dark Letter Tattoo, it’s time for something new.

That name was forged in our earliest days — a banner we carried with pride. But seasons change. And we’ve changed too.

We’ve grown sharper in our craft, deeper in our values, and clearer in our vision. The old name can no longer contain who we’ve become.

On May 1st, Dark Letter Tattoo becomes Morning Star Tattoo.

The Studio Is Changing — But the Work Remains
Inside the studio, change is already underway. We’re tearing down old walls, rebuilding the space, and setting the tone for what’s next.

But while the name is changing, the way we tattoo is not.
You’ll still find the same quiet space, the same focused care, and the same commitment to lasting, thoughtful work.

To mark the occasion, we’re releasing all of our exclusive 2024 Midsommer flash pieces — designs that were previously reserved for the event are now available to purchase.

These are one-of-a-kind. First come, first claimed.
