Thoughts from the hypnosis office: Thoughts on the role of fatherhood

In the hypnosis office we spend a lot of time processing the client’s relationships with both their mother and their father. There are several themes that come up, depending on the client’s individual circumstances.

In this week’s episode I’ll share some general themes I’ve seen over the years and trends I’m seeing in families with roles of care and nurturing in the home. I’ll also share a story about a client who ultimately learned a lot of resistance and independence through having an absent father (those silver linings are helpful!)

If you haven’t seen the partner episode for this video please check out “Helping moms manage stress” from May 4.

Thoughts from the hypnosis office: Weathering the storm to get to the rainbow

I wish I could give you all sunshine and rainbows in life, but as we know, we also experience times of storm. These struggles, challenges and hardships ultimately help us grow and become stronger, but they can also be exhausting and painful.

In this video I’ll share some thoughts about continuing through the period of struggle so you can enjoy the time of sunshine and rainbows!

Thoughts from the hypnosis office: Resources for highly sensitive and empathetic people

Many people come to me because they feel overwhelmed by the energy of the world and people around them, leading to behaviors that numb themselves from the pain. We work together throughout their sessions to help differentiate their feelings from others and set boundaries so they can stop taking on so much outside of their control. This helps them feel more relaxed, calm and in control of their lives and their energy.

I often recommend additional books and other resources to help them understand the idea of being an highly sensitive or empathetic person to help them with their ongoing healing process.

In this video, I’ll talk about this a bit further and I’ll share a book I often recommend to my clients to help with their ongoing personal growth.

Thoughts from the hypnosis office: Using AI to identify patterns to help you make changes

An important aspect of my hypnosis sessions is uncovering clients patterns so that they can change them. Sometimes there are several complicated layers to these patterns!

In this week’s video, I’ll share how I recently used open source AI to help me understand a particular challenge in my own life, as well as a couple of additional examples from clients experiences.

Utilizing AI isn’t a replacement for professional or medical intervention, so it’s always important to get additional input from your care providers, but as I explain in the video, this process helped me narrow down the issue so that I was able to communicate it to my care team!

Thoughts from the hypnosis office: Resources for stress, anxiety and burnout

Many people come to me because their stress response has gotten out of control, leading to anxiety and emotional outbursts. We work together throughout their sessions to help get their stress response back in control, which helps them feel more relaxed and calm in their lives.

I often recommend additional books and other resources to help them understand their stress response and to help them with their ongoing healing process.

In this video, I’ll share two books I often recommend to my clients to help with stress and burnout.

Thoughts from the hypnosis office: Make your mark- how body art (tattoos) can anchor your hypnosis sessions

My clients often light up when I ask them about significance of their tattoos. These are powerful pieces of art that are meaningful to them and there are often lovely stories about them. Sometimes I’ll use suggestions in our sessions based on what they share, which helps provide ongoing anchoring (reinforcement) of their sessions and making the suggestions even more personal and meaningful.

In this video I’ll share some examples of how I’ve incorporated this in clients sessions and share some ideas on how you can do this for yourself.

Thoughts from the hypnosis office: Helping moms manage stress

Our mothers are our first significant relationship, and in early life we are reliant on them for our survival. As we grow older, the relationship changes, but even adults admit in times of struggle they feel the need for “mommy.”

In our world of juggling home, career and caregiving, this can unfortunately lead to stress and overwhelm, which impacts the entire household.

In this week’s episode I’ll share some tips to help moms (and honestly anyone) decompress after a day outside the home so they can enjoy the time they have at home with less stress and less overwhelm.

Please be sure to check out “Thoughts on the role of fatherhood” which will be released on June 15!

Thoughts from the hypnosis office: Choose not to lose hope!

We face several challenges in life that we don’t have control over. In these situations, we still have a choice- in how we choose to think about it. It kind of the “glass half empty or half full” dilemma.

In this video, I’ll share a story about a recent experience I had when I remembered how important it is to choose to cling to hope.
