CO₂ Laser Recovery: What’s Normal?
The glow-up takes a little healing!
After a CO₂ laser treatment, it’s completely normal for your skin to experience redness, swelling, warmth, and a sunburn-like sensation. Your skin is working hard to repair itself and build fresh, healthy collagen!
Here’s what you can typically expect during recovery:
❤️ Redness & Swelling: These are common in the first few days and gradually improve as your skin heals. Redness may last longer depending on the intensity of your treatment.
✨ Peeling & Flaking: As your skin renews itself, you may notice tiny crusts, dryness, or peeling. Let your skin shed naturally—don’t pick or pull at it!
💧 Hydration Is Key: Follow your provider’s aftercare instructions, keep your skin moisturized with approved products, and avoid active ingredients until your provider says it’s safe to resume them.
☀️ Protect Your Results: Avoid direct sun exposure and use sun protection as directed by your provider.
💕 Be Patient With Your Skin: Healing takes time, and everyone’s recovery is different. Your skin may look worse before it looks better, but the beautiful results are worth the patience!
⚠️ Remember: Increasing pain, worsening redness or swelling, fever, pus, or other signs of infection are not something to ignore. Contact your provider if you experience these symptoms.
