dear mom: this is your reminder you were never meant to carry it all alone.

This Maternal Mental Health Month, we hope you remember that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. 🤍🤍🤍

Because postpartum psychosis may include highly stigmatized symptoms like unwanted hom*c*d*l thoughts and urges, we need to ensure that both those suffering and their loved ones feel safe seeking out care. That’s why public awareness of PPP is so important.

Let me re-introduce myself, 👋🏻 I’m Jackie — a doula, childbirth educator, maternal mental health professional, and mom of 4. 🤍

I’ve been serving families in birth work for a little over 6 years now, and supporting women through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and education has become one of the greatest callings of my life.

I am:
✨ Certified MSP/Doula
✨ Certified Childbirth Educator
✨ PMH-C trained in Maternal Mental Health
✨ Extensively trained in postpartum support & perinatal mental health
✨ Co-founder of Magic Valley Doula Collective
✨ Doula Coordinator & Class Educator for Sage Women’s Center

I specialize in supporting women navigating previous birth trauma, anxiety, PMADs, and emotionally complex pregnancy and postpartum experiences. I am deeply passionate about helping women feel informed, empowered, supported, and truly seen throughout their journey into motherhood.

My approach to birth work is rooted in evidence-based education, compassionate support, advocacy, and faith. I believe birth matters. The way a woman is cared for matters. Her mental and emotional wellbeing matter.

I am committed to continue to build the birth community and serve women here in the Magic Valley.

Whether you are preparing for your first baby or healing from a previous birth experience that didn’t go as planned, my goal is to walk alongside you with calm, knowledge, encouragement, and unwavering support.

I intentionally take a limited number of clients so I can provide attentive, high-quality, deeply personalized care to every family I serve.

If you are looking for a doula who prioritizes advocacy, education, emotional wellbeing, and wholehearted support, I would be honored to walk this journey with you. 🤍

📩 DM me with any questions, I’d love to chat with you!

✨ My books are officially OPEN for a limited number of new clients. ✨

Birth is one of the most vulnerable, powerful, life-changing moments a woman will ever walk through — and you deserve to feel supported, informed, safe, and deeply cared for every step of the way. 🤍

As a doula I believe your birth experience matters. Your voice matters. Your peace matters. Whether you’re planning an unmedicated birth, epidural, induction, cesarean, or still figuring out what feels right for you, I am here for you.

Because I keep my client load intentionally small, I only have a few due date openings available for upcoming months. If you’ve been thinking about hiring a doula, this is your sign to reach out now before spots fill. ✨

You were never meant to do this alone. 🫶

Birth work is sacred work. And those who answer the call carry a kind of devotion that can’t always be explained, only felt. Birth work is soul work.

It’s World Doula Week 🤍

“I don’t catch babies… I hold mothers.”

Because birth isn’t just about the moment a baby arrives—it’s about the strength, vulnerability, and transformation of the woman bringing that baby into the world.

Doulas are here to support you through every contraction, every question, every moment of doubt, and every victory. We are here to remind you that you are safe, seen, and never alone.

My work doesn’t end at birth.

As a maternal mental health advocate, I am deeply passionate about shining light on postpartum mood disorders—because too many women suffer in silence. You deserve support not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too.

A doula is not a luxury.
She is support.
She is education.
She is advocacy.
She is presence.

This week, we honor the sacred work of birth work a dholding mothers through one of the most powerful seasons of their lives.

You were never meant to do this alone 🤍

🛑 Stop silencing or invalidating parents when they say something isn’t right.

When a parent says they’re struggling, or they feel desperate for relief, or they’re having a hard time being pregnant/having a baby — resist the urge to say anything at all.

âś… Start listening.

✨Realize when a parent discloses this:
• This is their red flag. This is their call for help.
• It doesn’t mean they’re being pessimistic or lazy.
• Nobody woke up and said, “When I’m a parent some day, I want to be depressed and anxious!” They didn’t choose this. Being happy isn’t always just a CHOICE.
• Many already feel tremendous guilt for the way they feel.
• They are often already beating themselves up and worried about if they’re going to “ruin their child” or not be good enough.

✨Instead, try:
• Listening. Without the intent to respond. Put yourself in their shoes.
• Validating - “This sounds like it’s really hard for you. I am so sorry you are going through this.”
• Ask them if they just need someone to listen, or if they’d like help.
• If they want help, offer ways to help — take the older children out of the house once a month, babysit for free once a week so mom can workout, pay for a postpartum doula to help.
• If they’re open, connect them to resources like free support groups, helping them find a postpartum therapist, have them take the free EPDS mental health screen for parents, etc.

We can do better. We can be better, kinder, more compassionate. Let’s make a pact to end mental health stigma, specifically in parents, and understand that we are all just trying and doing our best.

👉What is something someone said or did that HELPED you? How did you feel seen or validated?

Birth can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. A doula can help you transform fear into confidence, providing support, guidance, and reassurance every step of the way. You are stronger than any fear you may face. You were designed for this journey, and with the right support, you can embrace your power. You deserve the birth experience you envision—empowered, supported, and in control.
