Let’s all walk together.
LETS BREAK THE SILENCE
Behind the smiles, the newborn photos, the congratulations, and the “you’ve got this” are mothers who are struggling silently.
Postpartum mental health struggles are far more common than many people realize.
• About 1 in 8 women report symptoms of postpartum depression after giving birth.
• Perinatal anxiety disorders affect about 1 in 5 women.
• And postpartum mental health struggles don’t always show up right away—CDC research found that **more than half of women experiencing depressive symptoms at 9–10 months postpartum had not reported symptoms earlier in the postpartum period.
• Yet we still miss opportunities to ask moms how they are really doing.
This is why we walk.
This is why we speak up.
This is why we refuse to let postpartum mental health remain a silent struggle.
If you have struggled with postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, a postpartum mood or anxiety disorder—or if you love someone who has—come walk with us.
Come walk for the mom who cried in the bathroom because she didn't know how much longer she could keep going.
Come walk for the mom who felt guilty because she wasn't experiencing motherhood the way everyone told her she would.
Come walk for the mom who was overwhelmed, anxious, angry, lonely, disconnected, or simply not okay.
Come walk for the mom who needed someone to ask, How are YOU doing?”
And come walk for the moms who never got the support they deserved.
We need to heal our moms.
We need to care for our moms.
We need to listen to our moms.
We need to support our moms.
And we need to SPEAK UP.
The Magic Valley Doula Collective is committed to bringing education, awareness, connection, and support to mothers throughout our community.
Because taking care of the baby means taking care of the mother, too.
Join us for our Postpartum Mental Health Walk.
Bring your friends. Bring your family. Bring your babies. Bring your story. Or simply come stand beside a mom who needs to know she isn't alone.
Let's make the invisible visible.
Let's replace silence with conversation.
Let's replace isolation with community.
Let's show moms that they matter.
We walk because moms matter. 🩷
