POV: A certified menopause specialist hears these and immediately enters fight-or-flight. 😵‍💫🔥

Women are still being dismissed, undertreated, and told their symptoms are “normal,” “stress,” or “just aging” — often for YEARS. Perimenopause doesn’t start at 50, hot flashes aren’t the only symptom, and “normal labs” do not rule it out.

And maybe my personal favorite horror trope:
✨ reducing complex metabolic and hormonal changes to “eat less and move more.” ✨

Women deserve evidence-based care, nuance, and to actually be listened to.

Which one have you heard before? 👇

We’re in this together. Even if we can’t remember what “this” is called!

The struggle is REAL.

Let’s clear this up:

Perimenopause is very much a recognized medical condition — and it has multiple ICD-10 diagnostic codes used every day in clinical practice.

Too bad there’s not an ICD-10 code for medical gaslighting! 😒

These ICD-10 codes exist because the menopausal transition is a real physiologic stage with real symptoms — often starting years before the final menstrual period.

📣You’re not imagining things! 📣

👉🏼Perimenopause is VERY real.
👉🏼Your symptoms are VERY real.
👉🏼And women deserve clinicians who understand the menopause transition.

No worries — we’re out here fixing the knowledge gap one myth at a time. 😉💪🏼

A friend asked me this recently 👆🏼

My answer was a resounding YES.
And I wish more women were told this sooner.

Perimenopause can quietly erode resilience — not resolve, not strength, not character — resilience. The ability to bounce back. To tolerate stress. To feel steady. To hold it together.

When hormones fluctuate, your nervous system works overtime just to keep up.

Nothing about this is a personal failing.
It’s biology asking for support. And there IS support to help you get through this phase of life. 🫶🏼
