The Leadership Institute of NCW is coming to Okanogan County...if you're interested in growing your leadership skills and making a difference in your community, this is for you!

Participants will gain practical leadership and civic engagement skills, including how local and state government works, how to facilitate discussions and bring people together around shared goals, and how to work across diverse perspectives and experiences.

This free 20-session bilingual leadership and civic engagement program is open to anyone over the age of 18 who has a desire to improve the lives of children, families, and communities.

RoomTwo is looking for community members who want to host a workshop this school year! Drop-in starts September 14th and is open Mondays & Wednesdays for high school students.

Want to teach baking? Host a dance class? Lead an art activity? Teach about home plant care? Share your knowledge of coding or computers? The sky is the limit! Be a safe adult and support our local young people!

We are also looking for folks to donate a hot meal for our monthly Wednesday Family Dinners, if food is more your love language :)

We’ve had so much fun hanging out with NCW Libraries this summer!

🧩We were inspired by the fierce competition between our two teams of teens in the puzzle contest we had at the Room Two teen drop-in center yesterday!🎉

The waitlist you’ve been waiting for is here!

If you signed up for the Skylstad apartment interest list with Room One (or otherwise), check your email! Catholic Charities has begun contacting people to invite them to apply for the apartment waitlist. Applications are being processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to respond as soon as possible if you receive an email.

The past few weeks have reminded us how deeply connected we are.

When difficult things happen in a small community, they ripple outward. Right now, some people are grieving, while others are feeling anxious or unsettled or even just like they’re carrying a bit more than they usually are. Wherever you are in this moment, please know that your experience is your own AND none of us are meant to do this life without other people.

One of the greatest strengths of our rural community is that we consistently show up for one another. If you find yourself needing someone to talk with, help connecting to resources, or support making sense of what you’re carrying, Room One is here.

This community has always found its way forward together. Let’s keep taking good care of ourselves and each other. 🩵💛
