Today for lipedema awareness month, I'm highlighting Stage 1. Why? Because there is a tendency in our community to sort of roll our eyes at those who haven't progressed much. We all say we wish we had known earlier so we could have maybe prevented progression or gotten help sooner, but then we put these women on the spot and question them to death until they often feel like their lipedema experience isn't valid or isn't as important. I can tell you that many of the symptoms aren't stage dependent. Fatigue, pain, inflammation, tenderness, heaviness in the tissues, decreased mobility, lack of circulation, lymph stagnation...these are all issues those at Stage 1 face. Someone with Stage 1 lipedema can have just as much pain as those who look like their tissues are more painful because they have a larger, lumpier body. Don't make assumptions. Let's be supportive of all body shapes and types and stages that this condition presents and be happy that there are people getting what they need before they progress so far! Thanks to the amazing Aimee Buchanan aka The Lippy Nutritionist, who is a Stage 1 girl herself, for this short video. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1AAAdJpGD9/
