I started this journey as a labor and delivery nurse. After many years watching new moms interact with their newborns I decided to specialize in breastfeeding education. I believe moms have a choice how they feed their babies, I do believe breastmilk is better for infants than formula. Having said that I also believe ALL BABIES NEED TO BE FED. THAT MEANS FEEDING YOUR BABY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN N

OT FEEDING, NO MATTER HOW YOU CHOOSE TO FEED. again it is your choice how you feed your baby, This practice exists to assist those who choose to breastfeed to achieve their goal. It is my job to provide education and assistance not to determine your preference for how you choose to feed your baby.

How do you Know how to choose a Ni**le shape?
My first question is are you Breastfeeding and bottle feeding?
Or are you exclusively bottle feeding. Yes it does actually make difference,
When you exclusively bottle feed the ni**le shape is not as crucial. If its working for the baby it's all good!

When you are feeding both Breast and bottle it makes a BIG difference.
Ni**le shape can cause babies to bite, and that is not good for breastfeeding moms!
When ni**les are bitten there are two issues Pain and Damage.

These are some examples of common ni**le shapes....
Which are best for Breastfed/ Bottle supplemented babies?

Let’s talk pediatric care.

Pediatric care has changed a lot over the years and some of the changes may be for the better but a lot of them feel like they’re for the worst. We have groups of pediatricians with nurse practitioners, who are pulling clients in and seeing them as quickly as possible just like most of the other specialties. Is not a cattle called type business. You have small people who have a lot going on and brand new parents a lot of whom our first time parents and Don don’t really know what to expect.
so let’s look at a different model. I want to step out there and recommend my friends over at Whistle Stop Pediatric’s so Miss Beverly is a single practitioner. That means she can see one person at a time and she can focus on that person that child and the parent into the education that she needs to do to be able to help that parent learn to cope with having a brand new kid. She does take families she takes families that have been established elsewhere and will give them the same care that she gives all of her clients. I’ve watched Miss Beverly take patients back and with all of her children she interacts with the child just like she interacts with the parents. She will get on that kids level and talk to them and make them feel like they are safe and welcome whether they’re a tiny little newborn or whether they’re 1415-year-olds so her philosophy is all patients deserve the same love and attention. I’m gonna tell you this is something that we should be doing investing time and effort into our patients y’all think about giving her check out.

We are dedicated to providing high-quality pediatric care in a comfortable and convenient setting. Our team strives to create a welcoming and nurturing environment for both children and parents.

Babies are not lazy!
Babies are born, knowing how to suck and how to swallow, they are not born, knowing how to latch and how to eat. Those are taught behaviors.
Both mom and baby have to learn how to latch the baby and how to get the baby to eat. The first few days babies work off of reflexes when the ni**le gets all the way in their mouth with part of the ar**la also in the mouth the suck reflex is triggered and babies eat.
Moms are taught to get the ni**le in Ariel and the baby‘s mouth. Keep the baby up close and that will trigger them eating well. If the latch is painful, it needs to be adjusted take babe off and re-latch them if you’re still having trouble latching, please consider seeing a qualified lactation consultant. **lepainisnotnormal
