That’s where the Feelings Wheel can help.
Instead of stopping at:
“I’m mad.”
“I’m stressed.”
“I’m fine.”
Try getting more specific.
Are you feeling hurt? Rejected? Discouraged? Overwhelmed? Insecure? Lonely?
Research shows that being able to identify emotions more clearly helps us regulate them more effectively and communicate with greater understanding and empathy in our relationships.
This week, try using the Feelings Wheel during a conversation with your partner. You might be surprised how much easier it becomes to explain what’s really going on underneath the surface.

It’s been a little over a year since I stopped looking for happiness in other places and finally took the jump into making my dreams a reality. Moving into private practice was scary and so far out of my comfort zone… but has resulted in the most rewarding year of my professional life.

Im thankful for the decade of work that came before it to shape the therapist I am today. I’m grateful for past, current, and future clients who have been vulnerable enough to make it all possible. Let’s keep showing up + doing the work together.
