Sometimes the best therapist has four legs and a tail. 🐾✨

It’s not just in your head—science shows that spending time with a pet can actually lower cortisol (the stress hormone) and boost oxytocin. For many, a pet provides a unique kind of safe space where you can simply *be* without judgment.

Whether it's a dog's greeting, a cat's purr, or just the routine of caring for another living thing, our pets often mirror the compassion we’re learning to show ourselves. 🫶🏼

Does your pet help you stay grounded? Share a photo of your furry (or scaly!) co-regulator below! 👇🌿❤️

🌿 Small Wins Wednesday 🌿

I’ll start…

This week, my small win was: remembering to drink more water 💧 🥤

Now it’s your turn.

What’s one thing you’re proud of this week?
It doesn’t have to be huge.
Some weeks, just showing up (or having a few sips of water) is enough.

Tell us your small win below—we’re celebrating all of them today. 💚

✨ Well… this was unexpected. Making connections is what we strive for. Today, we’re focused on gratitude. 🌿🤍-EB

hey everyone 👋 we all know how frustrating (and expensive!) it is when the power goes out and everything in the fridge is lost.

if you are a SNAP recipient and lost food due to a power outage or other household disaster, you may be able to get benefits replaced for the amount of food lost.

the clock is ticking ⏰: you must report your food loss within 10 days of the disaster.

you can use the form below, grab it from your local office, or easily submit it online through your COMPASS account.

👀 You know that moment in therapy when you finish talking and your therapist doesn’t immediately jump in?

It might look like this:

Client: finishes talking

Therapist: sits quietly for a few seconds (the longesttt secondssss)

Client’s brain:

💭 “Well this is awkward.”
💭 “Should I say more?”
💭 “Did I break therapy?”
💭 “IS THIS THING ON?” 🎤

Actually…

Sometimes that pause is the therapy.

A little space to process, reflect, feel, and hear yourself before someone else jumps in.

Not every meaningful moment needs to be filled with words.

You got so used to being the dependable one
that now resting feels lazy or just…wrong.
Boundaries feel mean!
& saying “actually that doesn’t work for me” feels uncomfortable…..I COULD NEVER.

Ya know, a lot of people learned to survive by keeping everyone else okay first.
Because when they’re ok, I’M OKAY.

But constantly showing up for everyone while ignoring yourself gets exhausting.

So guess what:
You’re allowed to stop overexplaining. (Yep, you are!)
You’re allowed to disappoint people sometimes. (Instead of yourself.)

You’re allowed to take care of YOU before you completely burn out. (Or, shut down.)

Self-advocacy doesn’t have to signal *threat* to your system.

Today’s reminder:
Before automatically saying yes to something,
pause and ask yourself if you actually have the energy for it.
