26.2 miles. One incredible city. A million memories. 🏙️🏃♀️🏅
CHICAGO, YOU WERE EVERYTHING! ❤️
What started as a crazy idea to run my first marathon turned into an experience I’ll never forget.
From exploring the streets of Chicago, sightseeing, riding the trains, taking way too many pictures, and soaking up everything this beautiful city had to offer… to standing at the starting line with thousands of runners, wondering what in the world I had gotten myself into. 😂
And then there was the marathon itself.
26.2 miles of excitement, determination, exhaustion, questionable life decisions, and moments when I wondered why anyone voluntarily signs up for this. But also 26.2 miles of realizing just how much we’re capable of when we refuse to quit.
Crossing that finish line was something I’ll carry with me forever. I AM A MARATHONER! 🏅
A huge thank you to my parents for coming along on this adventure, cheering me on, supporting my crazy ideas, and being there to celebrate this milestone with me. Having you there made an already unforgettable weekend that much more special. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who followed my training, encouraged me, donated to Breakthrough T1D, sent messages, or cheered me on along the way. You were all part of this journey. Breakthrough T1D
And Chicago? The energy, the crowds, the architecture, the people, the atmosphere… absolutely incredible. I came for a marathon and left with so much more.
Was it easy? Absolutely not.
Would I do it again? I said no somewhere around mile 20… but apparently I’ve already started thinking about the next one. 🤣
Chicago Marathon 2026 — my first marathon, but definitely not my last.
