To many people this may just look like a regular work van 🚐!
To me it represents such an amazing part of my childhood!
You see my Daddy has “laid rug” as he would say for over 30 years if not longer, and his hands look just like Marty Raines on Homestead Rescue 🛟. My Daddy’s hands were definitely his resume as well as the work he did.
I remember on my summer ☀️ breaks when I would be able to have weekends with Daddy he would allow me and a few of my cousins to go to work with him if we wanted to!
The best part is he would actually pay💰 us! I remember pulling up and ripping carpet out of apartments and homes 🏡 like it was yesterday!
My job was to pick up scraps, lay tack strip , staple seams on the pad , run 🏃♀️ and grab tools 🛠, and I’m sure anything else that was pretty simple to do 😂
I loved it 😍! I was excited to work 🤩 I loved 🥰 being able to work in new houses and smelling all the fresh paint and freshly hung drywall!
The only phrase we all dreaded hearing was an “Occupied House” 😂😂😂😂 but some how we made it through it and got it done!
Lunch was the best! If we had a good week we ate at Burger King or McDonalds 🍔 and if it was a slow week we had whatever the Gas Station⛽️ special was.
Which may be why I’m still so fond of Gas Station food ….LOL 😂😂😂
Nothing like a can of Vienna sausages with hot sauce and a pack of crackers with a coke to wash it down ! 🥤
That job taught me more than any college or school 🏫 could have ever taught me !
I learned how to manage money 💰
I learned how to hit deadlines.📆
I learned how to fix mistakes and own them! 🧰
I learned how hard my Daddy worked 💪!
I learned how hard it was to make a dollar 💵 as well as how hard it can be to stretch a dollar.
I learned how valuable Math 🧮 was in this field.
I seen my Daddy make cuts to cut rug into fit that I had no idea 🤷🏽♀️ how he figured out where his cuts should be !
I learned that “Nobody Owes You Anything”! If you want it, you have to get out here and work for it !
Most importantly I learned that I was a True, Blue Entrepreneur through and through to the heart ❤️
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t figure this out until several years later in life of working a traditional job!
After working many jobs I hated, and feeling so caged in working 3 twelves every week, to being a complete HR nightmare. I was just done!
Little did I know I was trying to force a square 🟪 peg in a round hole 🕳, and this made me frustrated and angry 😡.
I tried college 🏫 and quickly discovered I hated it !!!!
On my first day of College I had my first panic attack! 😔
However, I won’t bore you with all the glorious details about that, but long story short I dropped out of college to say the least!
I also dropped out of high school 🏫 because I felt like it was a waste of my time 😬 !
I decided I would go and get my GED, and not waste time on classes that meant absolutely nothing to me!
Now, hear me out ! I am not saying “Go and drop out of school “ and become an Entrepreneur… 😂😂😂!!!
Because I assure you that’s when “Murphy will come and pay you a visit “ and it will be several back to back visits more than likely .
So don’t expect that to go smoothly. However the magic 🪄 in this is allowing yourself to find and uncover some talents and abilities that you never knew you had !
Just start today by working on one thing that fires 🔥 you 🆙. Then continue moving in that direction towards that thing you want to do one day!!
I will tell you now that it’s NOT:
🚫 Going to be easy.
🚫 You’re going to second guess yourself more than you’re sure of yourself.
🚫 You’re going to feel like giving up.
🚫 You’re gonna get knocked down more times than not.
But here’s what I do know, if it’s truly your passion and your dream 💭, it will all be worth the sacrifice and the refining process that it will take you to get there.
You will then start discovering you know more answers to things than you thought 💭 you did.
You will also discover you have ideas 💡 that could totally revolutionize the world 🌎 and discover that the world has been needing your talents !
I always tell everyone, if you’re not happy with what you’re currently doing, try different things out, see what you like. See what makes your brain 🧠 tick and light you up! This process may take a while or no time at all if you already have an idea 💡 of what you want to do.
Nonetheless once you figure out what it is that you want to be doing, take one ☝️ step in that direction, and then another, and another.
Before you know it you will be getting closer and closer to doing what it is you absolutely love. 💗
Who knows ?!?! You may even find your true calling !!!! 🥰🥰🥰
