Planned Parenthood South Texas provides high quality, personalized health care in a safe and supportive environment. We have all FDA-approved contraception methods available including long acting methods such as the patch, ring, implant, or IUD. Sexually transmitted infections screening and treatment is available, including HIV testing. We also offer transgender hormone therapy in an open, nonjudgmental environment.

Today, we mourn the passing of Dolores Huerta, a trailblazing civil rights activist, labor leader, and lifelong champion for justice and equality.

In 2016, Planned Parenthood South Texas had the incredible honor of welcoming Dolores Huerta to our Annual Luncheon alongside the late Cecile Richards, former president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. It was a privilege to share that moment with two remarkable women whose courage and determination helped shape generations of activism.

Dolores reminded us that creating a better world is not only possible, but our collective responsibility. Her legacy will continue to inspire us to advocate, organize, and stand up for the communities we serve.

Our hearts are with her family, loved ones, and all those whose lives she touched.

Rest in power, Dolores Huerta. 🌺

Reminder: Breast cancer screenings can help find breast cancer before you notice symptoms.

The most common breast cancer symptom is a lump in your breast or in your armpit. Other things besides cancer can cause lumps, so finding one doesn’t definitely mean you have cancer. Also, lots of people have breasts that are just normally lumpy. But it’s important to get checked out if you find a lump.

Here are some other possible signs of breast cancer:

Swelling in your breast
Dimples in the skin of your breast
Pain in your breast or ni**le
Ni***es that turn inward instead of sticking out
Skin on your breast or ni**le that’s discolored, flaky, scaly, or thicker than normal
Discharge or blood coming out of your ni**le
