The 2026 GAP Report™ is now available: Restarting Growth: The Role of Regenerative Agriculture in Productivity Growth and Profitability.

Global average annual agricultural TFP growth fell to 0.63% during 2015–2024 — roughly 30% of the 2001–2010 peak of 1.95%, and the lowest rate recorded since the 1970s.

The report finds regenerative agriculture a plausible contributor to restarting that growth, working through input reduction, natural capital accumulation and output stabilization under climate stress. Using regenerative practices as productivity growth tactics will require measurement systems, localized decision tools, extension support, transition finance, and outcome-based frameworks.

Thank you, Congressman Scott Franklin, Congressman Gus Bilirakis, Congresswoman Laurel Lee, Congressman Byron Donalds, Congressman Daniel Webster, Congressman Greg Steube, Congresswoman Kat Cammack and Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, for helping elevate this important issue. Ensuring a reliable sulfur supply is critical to domestic fertilizer production, American agriculture, and food security.

Florida is home to a major part of America’s phosphate industry, and farmers across our state depend on a reliable supply of American-made fertilizer.

With sulfur prices now seven times higher than normal and domestic producers already cutting production, I’m leading members of Florida’s congressional delegation in working with the Trump Administration to increase supply, address transportation and logistics challenges, and keep American fertilizer production strong. ⬇️
