🌿 Medplus Hospice May Newsletter Highlights 🌿

This month at Medplus Hospice, we focused on education, wellness, and compassionate community support.

💚 May is National Stroke Awareness Month — helping families recognize the FAST warning signs of stroke and understand how prevention, early action, and hospice support can make a difference.

🌸 In April, we celebrated National Stress Awareness Month by promoting healthy habits, relaxation techniques, and staff wellness initiatives alongside our amazing community partners.

🤝 We also continue to support caregivers through our monthly Caregiver’s Path Workshop, providing guidance, resources, and encouragement for those caring for loved ones.

📍 Thank you to everyone who connected with us at the Janet Goeske Foundation Senior Conference and the May community events! We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with seniors, caregivers, and healthcare partners throughout the community.

Last week we had the privilege of serving lunch to the incredible case managers at San Antonio Regional Hospital 💙

Behind every discharge plan, every difficult conversation, every resource coordinated, and every patient advocate moment — there’s a case manager working tirelessly to make sure patients and families feel supported during some of life’s hardest moments.

We are so grateful for the compassion, dedication, and heart you pour into your work every single day. Thank you for being the bridge between healthcare and hope.

It was an honor to give back in a small way to a team that gives so much to others. Lunch is on us today… because heroes deserve to be celebrated too 🍽️✨

This Nurses Week, we celebrate the extraordinary nurses of Medplus Hospice — the compassionate hearts behind every moment of comfort, dignity, and care we provide.

Our nurses are more than nurses. They are listeners during difficult conversations, calm voices in uncertain moments, advocates for our patients, and a source of strength for families when they need it most. They bring compassion into every home, kindness into every interaction, and hope into some of life’s most challenging seasons.

Because of their dedication, our patients are never alone. Because of their hearts, families feel supported, comforted, and cared for beyond words.

To our incredible nursing team: thank you for the late nights, the gentle hands, the endless patience, and the love you pour into your work every single day. You are truly the heart of all we do, and we are endlessly grateful for each one of you.

Celebrating National Stress Awareness at Upland Rehab, Medplus treated the staff to essential oil roll-on bottles designed to promote relaxation and reduce stress. The team also shared simple, effective ways to manage stress, including deep breathing techniques, chair yoga, and healthy eating habits.

Dr. Siu, Robin from CarePatrol, Anna from Medplus, and Beau from Homes Well Care came together to support the staff, serving a fresh spring strawberry chicken salad as a delicious example of nutritious, stress-supportive eating.

It was a productive day! Thank you Loma Linda Assisted Living for hosting the IENC group at this morning’s breakfast networking event. The turnout was fantastic, and it made for a truly productive start to the day.

We wrapped things up by sharing Starbucks drinks with the amazing memory care staff at Atria Senior Living—just a small way to show appreciation for all that they do. ☕️
