IPA member Monica Nikseresht, PharmD, Clinical Director and Manager of Glenwood Medicap Pharmacy, was invited to speak at an international forum on advancing pharmacy’s role in primary health care.

The meeting took place in Montreal, Canada, and was co-hosted by the Canadian Pharmacists Association and the American Pharmacists Association in collaboration with the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).

During the forum, pharmacy leaders from around the world identified key conditions for integrating pharmacists into primary health care: workforce readiness, sustainable funding models, supportive regulatory frameworks, and interprofessional collaboration.

Thank you to Rep. Miller-Meeks and the Alliance for Patient Access for inviting IPA to engage in a roundtable discussion on healthcare affordability and patient access in Newton last week.

IPA appreciates Rep. Miller-Meeks’ support of ongoing PBM reform, as she emphasized the need for patients and providers to be able to make their own healthcare decisions.

Healthcare workforce shortages, rural health transformation program grants, and rising medication/insurance costs were also discussed.
