A lot of Detroiters, especially tattooers, know who Bob Tyrrell is.
He’s one of the first tattooers to achieve high realism black and gray portraits. He didn’t start until he was 34. He was known around the world for his work within a year of starting.
Before that he made countertops.
There are several people that were imperative to my start as a tattooer and Bob is the first. He lived and worked in my Grandmas neighborhood and he was super cool to me the few times I’ve talked to him.
He’s sick and in the hospital. The whole world of tattooing is praying for this guy.
He’s always been real cool to me and many other tattooers. Keep him in your prayers. 🙏
