A mom's private emails where she speaks candidly about school personnel with her advocate were used against her in a 2026 due process hearing. The hearing officer's response? Stay focused on what actually matters: did this child receive FAPE?

A Virginia student who communicates by letterboard just won a rare due process case against Fairfax County Public Schools. And buried in the decision is a reminder every special ed family needs to hear — IDEA doesn't require parents to be pleasant. It requires schools to provide a Free Appropriate Public Education.

We encourage every parent to stay professional. It matters. But being emotional during one of the hardest fights of your life does not excuse a school system from upholding the law. The legal question is never about the parent. It's always about the child.

For our Tricare families-
We have been attempting to work with Tricare for their payment issues. Unfortunately, they have continued to not process claims correctly or pay per the terms of the plan for January 2026 through March 2026 due to errors on the part of Tricare.

As a result of their errors, we are I am be to provide timely bills to families. Because we believe that the kids come first, we have not suspended services and have not billed families for these costs.

If you are impacted by these errors and feel called to do so, please contact this reporter. We have contact them and notified Tricare that we have done so.

We appreciate your support and patience as we navigate this.
