One of the most common things I hear from women is:
“My doctor told me I’m too old to start hormones.”
The truth is much more nuanced.
While hormone therapy is often best to initiate earlier in menopause/ perimenopause , current menopause guidelines emphasize that treatment decisions should be individualized. Age alone should not automatically exclude a woman from discussing hormone therapy options.
Many women continue to struggle with hot flashes, poor sleep, vaginal symptoms, brain fog, joint pain, and declining quality of life well into their 60s and beyond.
You deserve a provider who will evaluate YOU—not just your age.
Menopause care should be based on symptoms, risk factors, health history, bone health, and quality-of-life goals.
If you’ve been told “no” without a meaningful conversation, it may be worth seeking a second opinion.
