Today, we’re simply thankful.

Thankful for the servant hearts that make up our small, family-owned business. Our team brings their own talents, strengths, compassion, and heart into the homes of the families we have the privilege of serving.

What an honor it is to do work that brings peace of mind, support, companionship, and a helping hand when families need it most.

To every family who has trusted us along the way—through the good days, the challenging days, and all the days in between—thank you. We never take for granted the privilege of being invited into your homes and into such an important chapter of your lives.

❤️ WE HAVE THE BEST TEAM ON THE PLANET! ❤️

We want to shout it from the rooftops — we are so proud of our FirstCare Home Care team!

In light of the natural disaster that impacted Northwest Indiana, we watched our team demonstrate exactly what it means to have a servant heart.

Many of our team members were dealing with the aftermath of the storm themselves — no power, spotty cell service, damage, disrupted lives, and some who are still without power at home. Yet, despite their own struggles, they showed up for our clients.

We had all hands on deck. Team members stepped outside of their normal schedules, picked up additional shifts, helped clients they may not normally work with, and made sure those who simply could not afford to go without care were not left alone.

And they did it with a smile on their face and compassion in their heart.

That is more than a job. This is a commitment. This is compassion.💙

To our entire team — THANK YOU. We see you. We appreciate you. And we could not be more proud of the way you stepped up for our clients and for one another.

Please continue to pray for our neighbors, friends, families, and team members who are still dealing with the effects of this storm and waiting for power to be restored.

It’s been a very busy “Talent Tuesday” here at FirstCare! We have added 3 new team members to our Lake/Porter county team. These ladies have such a big heart to serve others and an even bigger smile. 😊

They want to help our seniors live thier best life at home, wherever they call home.

Please help us welcome Jazlyn, Maxine, and Tasha. They have fit in well with our team and have stepped right up to help serve our new clients. Thank you all for your hearts and your gift to work with our “seasoned citizens”, we are so glad you chose us. ❤️

What a wonderful afternoon spent at the Jasper County Fair with our “Seasoned Citizens”. We enjoyed great entertainment, played bingo, shared lots of laughs, and celebrated with some wonderful prizes. Jasper County Community Services did a fantastic job making sure everyone was well cared for!

It is always an honor to sponsor events that celebrate and support our most vulnerable population. Our seniors have given so much to their families and communities, and it’s a privilege to spend time making memories with them.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a special event. We had an absolute blast, & our Bingo cookies were a big hit, we are already looking forward to next time! ❤️

Quietly I have been working on growing my business and my tool belt.

For the past few months, I’ve been taking an online course in end-of-life care. I recently received my results, and I am honored to officially add End-of-Life Doula to my journey of serving families.

For years, I’ve had the privilege of walking beside individuals and families through the many chapters of aging—providing education, helping navigate family dynamics, supporting those living with dementia, outlining care plans & support for individuals to live their best life at home, assisting with insurance appeals, answering the “now what?” questions, and helping families make informed decisions.

Becoming an End-of-Life Doula allows me to complete that circle. My goal has always been to be a trusted resource—a place where families can turn for guidance, compassion, education, and support from the beginning of the aging journey through life’s final chapter.

I don’t take this responsibility lightly. Being invited into some of the most intimate moments of a family’s life is an incredible honor, and I pray that I continue to serve each person with dignity, compassion, and grace.

I also can’t help but think of my grandparents. They are my “why.” They inspired this path long before I knew where it would lead, and I’d like to think they’re smiling down, knowing their love continues to shape the work I do every day.

To God be the glory for the knowledge, opportunities, and the calling He has placed before me.

I look forward to continuing to serve families with a fuller toolbox and an even bigger heart. ❤️

It’s a Winning Wednesday! Can we all wish Mark a very Happy Birthday today? He is 65 years young today. He has been such a blessing to us here at FirstCare.

We celebrated his birthday with his friends and neighbors yesterday at The Elms in Michigan City with cake and balloons.
