This message came in the day after a stretch session I provided at a wellness event earlier this spring and it stopped me in my tracks. 🙏🏾

“I’ve been struggling to stand after long periods of inactivity. But today!!! I had very limited discomfort when standing.”

This. Right here. This is why I show up. One session. One intentional 15 minutes of targeted assisted stretching and she woke up the next morning standing with less pain than she had before.

This is not magic. This is movement as medicine. This is what happens when you give your body the attention it has been asking for. ❤️

For my perimenopausal women over 40 joint stiffness, hip tightness, and difficulty standing after sitting are not just inconveniences. They are your body communicating. And I speak that language fluently.

Happy Juneteenth. 🖤✊🏾

Today we celebrate freedom. The freedom that was fought for, bled for, and carried on the backs of those who never had a choice in how their bodies were used.

That is not lost on me.

So today I want to ask you something simple, ‘what active movement can you do today to honor that freedom?’

Because the ability to move your body, to stretch, to walk, to dance, to be strong, that is a gift. One that was not always ours to claim freely.

Celebrate today by moving. 🖤

🌿 Take a walk outside
💃🏾 Dance in your kitchen
🧘🏾‍♀️ Roll out your mat and breathe
🚴🏾‍♀️ Ride your bike
🌸 Stretch in the sunshine

However you move today, move with intention.
Move with gratitude.
Move with joy.

Thankful!🙏🏾
Nothing like getting turned around mid air back to the airport you left due to issues with the landing gear and being met with an emergency crew. By GOD’s grace, we landed smoothly but it was much more serious than we knew.

Thankful to the pilots and flight crew for their calm and patience and for landing the plane smoothly. Now we wait for a flight home which has been delayed by storms.

Somebody’s momma. 🖤

My birthday is in two weeks and my body feels different. I am not saying this for likes or sympathy. It genuinely does.

I am softer than I have been since pregnancy. I do not always feel muscular even though I know I am strong. Recovery takes longer than it used to. Some weeks perimenopause decides what my workout looks like — and I do not always get a vote.

But still I show up. Four times a week minimum. Even when it is hard. Even when the mirror does not reflect the effort. Even when my body is doing things I did not plan for and did not ask for.

And if you are a mom over 40 navigating the same thing, I want you to hear this:

You birthed children. You are still showing up. You are still figuring it out. You are doing it in a body that is changing faster than any program prepared you for.

That is not failure. That is strength. 🖤

Perimenopause is real. The physical changes are real. And you deserve support that understands that — not a generic fitness plan that pretends your body is the same as it was at 30.

That is exactly what I am building.
