Erin Halvorson of Ladora Receives Pharmacy Technician of the Year Award

DES MOINES — June 15, 2026 — The Iowa Pharmacy Association (IPA) is pleased to announce the 2026 recipient of the Pharmacy Technician of the Year Award is Erin Halvorson, CPhT, of Ladora, IA. The award was presented on June 11, 2026, at the association’s 2026 Annual Meeting in Coralville, IA.

Erin Halvorson is a pharmacy technician at Towncrest Pharmacy (based in Iowa City, IA) and was recently promoted to lead telepharmacy technician for Towncrest’s hybrid pharmacy in Van Horne, IA. Halvorson is immunization certified and helps train new technicians at the pharmacy.

Halvorson is known for her warm smile and genuine care for her patients and coworkers. She is skilled in her ability to see the entire patient, recognizing verbal and non-verbal cues that may affect the individual’s ability to care for themselves or others. She is an advocate for her patients and happy to answer their questions—or refer them to a pharmacist or insurance agent when needed. Halvorson is kind and empathetic, known for making after-hours deliveries to her patients in need of their medications.

The Pharmacy Technician of the Year Award recognizes a pharmacy technician in Iowa who has demonstrated outstanding involvement in the Iowa Pharmacy Association and enthusiasm for the pharmacy profession in the state.
