My heart aches for the parents mourning the losses of their babies in Oregon. Another needless and senseless tragedy.
The heaviness, anger, and grief that comes with this is valid and deserves space to be seen, felt and held. It is in these times of sorrow, crisis, or global or domestic conflict and pain that i cling to the words and teachings of zen master Thich Nhat Hanh.
Mindfulness is what allows me to hold both the feelings of deep joy along with the feelings of deep sorrow. They all have a place within us and it’s our responsibility to ourselves not shy away from any of it.
I weep with the community of Bend as they mourn these lives. And the work we do the create peace within ourselves is what creates peace in the works around us.
If you’re struggling to hold these emotions, you are always welcome to reach out or share in our community spaces. They are space and here for you.
