Lovage feels like one of those plants that quietly carries centuries of wisdom 🌿
Used since ancient Europe, lovage was once considered a medicinal herb as much as a culinary one—grown in monastery gardens, used to support digestion, and added to broths and stews for its deep, almost soulful flavor. You’ll still find it woven into traditional European cooking—especially in Romanian and Central European kitchens—where simple food is meant to nourish, not just fill.
It’s often called “wild celery,” but that doesn’t quite do it justice. Lovage is brighter, richer… almost comforting in a way that feels like home cooking passed down through generations.
This pesto is my way of bringing that tradition into a modern kitchen—keeping it simple, flavorful, and aligned with what our bodies actually need.
Because sometimes the most powerful foods aren’t new… they’ve just been forgotten.
Save this one, try it, and let me know how you use it 💚
