Questions about side effects, missed doses, OTC products, supplements, inhalers, medication storage, refills, vaccines, medication costs, drug interactions, or how to simplify a complicated schedule are all good reasons to start a conversation.

If we can’t resolve the concern at the pharmacy, we can often help you identify the right question to bring to your prescriber.

This week recognizes the pharmacy teams who help keep medication use safe, accurate, accessible, and understandable.

Behind every prescription are many steps: reviewing the order, checking allergies and interactions, coordinating insurance, obtaining medications, preparing the prescription, answering questions, and following up when something doesn’t look right.

We’re grateful for our pharmacists, technicians, students, delivery team, partners—and especially the patients who trust us with their care.

Flu vaccines are available for people 6 months and older, with different vaccine options licensed for different age groups.

🎀 Breast Cancer Awareness Month reminder: screening is not one-size-fits-all.

Mammography can help detect breast cancer before symptoms appear, but the appropriate timing and frequency can depend on age, personal history, family history, and other risk factors.

If you’re unsure when you’re due for screening, talk with your healthcare provider.

And if you’re taking long-term medications or hormone therapy, keep your medication list updated so all members of your healthcare team have the same information.

🧼 Today is Global Handwashing Day.

Handwashing with soap and water is a simple way to reduce the spread of germs.

Remember to wash before preparing or eating food, after using the restroom, after coughing or blowing your nose, and when hands are visibly dirty.

When soap and water aren’t available, an appropriate alcohol-based hand sanitizer can be useful in many situations.

A healthy routine doesn’t have to be complicated.

Refill dates, medication changes, specialist appointments, insurance questions, and complex schedules add up quickly.

A few tools may help: an updated medication list, a consistent organization system, refill synchronization when appropriate, and a written list of questions for appointments.

Joint pain can affect mobility, sleep, exercise, and everyday activities. Treatment may involve lifestyle measures, prescription therapies, OTC medicines, or a combination.

If you use pain relievers regularly, it’s worth checking whether they fit safely with your other medications and health conditions. Different products can have different risks.

Your pharmacist can help you review OTC pain-relief options and identify questions to discuss with your healthcare provider.

🌡️ Cooler weather is here—but medications still need proper storage.

Most medicines should be stored according to the temperature and handling directions on the label. Avoid leaving them for long periods in a very cold car, near a heater, in direct sunlight, or in damp areas such as bathrooms.

Some products have very specific refrigeration or temperature requirements.

Not sure whether a medication was stored safely? Ask your pharmacist before using or discarding it.
