Why you should call your reps: The reason you call is logged and tallied. High volumes of calls create pressure that tell our representatives NO MORE ICE. In Washington State, democrat representative Marie Gluesenkamp-Perez voted to give ICE MORE funding to create violence in our communities. It is important to hold our elected officials accountable when they vote against our rights and safety.
Calling is only one piece of resistance! Here’s some other ways you can help:
•attend a zine folding workshop or create a zine folding night with your friends. Some workshops coming up in the PDX area are from and - you can print 100 pages a day at multnomah libraries
• attend city council meetings and make your voice heard!
•protest or donate supplies and PPE to protesters is currently needing donations to keep protesters safe
•Call resources in the area and compile ones that do not require ID or store information to access (these are safer for vulnerable community members)
•reach out to volunteer with one of the many organizations in the area who are coordinating grocery drop offs, ICE watch trainings, food drives and more!
•Print, laminate, and distribute red cards and Know Your Rights materials (also available on my site if needed!)
•If you have a teenage child, Albina and Rockwood libraries have a 3D printer specifically for teens to use than can be used to print whistles from the files created by - they have adult printing days but they are not often and fill up way too fast.
