CNA Week (June 11th -17th) serves as a dedicated occasion to acknowledge and celebrate Certified Nursing Assistants for their invaluable direct patient care across hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and home care environments. CNAs frequently dedicate more time to patients than other members of the healthcare team, offering comfort, support, and essential personal care, thereby playing a pivotal role in patient well-being. During this designated week, we wish to express our profound gratitude to all our CNAs for their diligent efforts and compassionate service in their professional capacities!

June is recognized as National PTSD Awareness Month, a period dedicated to numerous awareness initiatives aimed at supporting individuals who have experienced post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop following exposure to a distressing or traumatic event, such as combat, severe accidents, or experiences of violence. Common symptoms may encompass persistent sadness, heightened worry, recurrent disturbing dreams, feelings of suspicion, difficulties with sleep, and intrusive thoughts. While some individuals recover from PTSD relatively quickly, experiencing resolution within days, weeks, or months, others may require a year or longer for their recovery process. It is important to note that PTSD is a treatable condition. However, limited public understanding and the societal stigma associated with seeking mental health support can lead some individuals to delay or avoid addressing their symptoms. All months we need to support those individuals, but this month we want to add extra focus on this disorder.

Typically occurring after a brain injury — like stroke, a tumor, or an infection — aphasia is a language impairment that affects a person’s ability to comprehend language and communicate.
