Three years ago, I was turning 41.
I was only about 10 pounds heavier than I am today — which is exactly why the scale can be so misleading.
My body fat was around 34%. I wasn’t tracking lean mass. I wasn’t eating intentionally for protein. And strength training looked more like going to the gym once, destroying myself for two hours, then not wanting to go back for a week.
I didn’t understand insulin resistance.
I didn’t understand muscle as a metabolic organ.
I didn’t understand the importance of protein, strength training, recovery, sleep, or preserving lean mass during weight loss.
Over the last three years, my weight changed by only about 10 pounds. My body fat today sits at 21%
But underneath that number, approximately 15 pounds of fat came off and 5 pounds of lean mass was added.
That is a completely different body.
What changed?
I stopped thinking about dieting and started understanding metabolic health.
I learned how GLP-1s can fit into a bigger strategy when appropriate. I learned to prioritize protein. I started lifting consistently instead of sporadically. I began tracking fat mass and lean mass instead of obsessing over scale weight. And I built the five pillars that became the foundation of our GLP-1 Blueprint™.
The goal was never just to become smaller.
The goal was to become stronger, metabolically healthier, and harder to break as I age.
That shift changed everything.
