If you’re dealing with hip arthritis, you know how frustrating it can be when simple activities like walking, getting out of a chair, or climbing stairs become painful.

While chiropractic care cannot reverse arthritis, it may help improve your quality of life by addressing factors that contribute to pain and restricted movement. Through improving joint mobility, reducing stress on surrounding tissues, and helping restore proper movement patterns, many patients experience less discomfort and improved function.

A comprehensive approach may include:
✅ Chiropractic adjustments when appropriate
✅ Mobility and stretching exercises
✅ Strengthening of the muscles that support the hip and pelvis
✅ Lifestyle and movement recommendations
✅ Strategies to help keep you active and independent

The goal isn’t just to reduce pain—it’s to help you move better, stay active, and continue doing the things you enjoy.

If hip pain is slowing you down, let’s talk about whether conservative care may be a good option for you.

✨ Chiropractic care is about more than just pain relief. ✨

When most people think of chiropractic, they think of back or neck pain. While helping people feel better is important, chiropractic care also focuses on improving movement, alignment, and function throughout the body.

When joints move properly and the body functions efficiently, everyday activities become easier, exercise feels better, and overall quality of life can improve. The goal isn’t simply to chase symptoms—it’s to support how your body is designed to move and perform.

Whether you’re an athlete, a busy parent, a desk worker, or simply looking to stay active as you age, taking care of your body’s movement and function can make a big difference in how you feel day to day.

At Back In Balance Chiropractic, our focus is helping you move better, function better, and live life with fewer limitations.

“I thought the chiropractor was just going to crack my back…”

One of the biggest misconceptions about chiropractic care is that it’s only about getting an adjustment or hearing a few pops and cracks. While adjustments can be an important part of treatment, chiropractic care is about so much more than that.

Our goal isn’t just to chase symptoms—it’s to identify and address the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction. That means looking at how your body moves, how your joints function, how your muscles support you, and how your daily habits impact your health.

Chiropractic care can help:
✔️ Improve movement and mobility
✔️ Reduce muscle tension and stiffness
✔️ Support healthy nervous system function
✔️ Improve posture and body mechanics
✔️ Enhance strength and stability through corrective exercises
✔️ Promote long-term function and wellness

Pain relief is important, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle. True health comes from helping your body move better, function better, and become more resilient over time.

The crack isn’t the goal—the better quality of life that follows is.

Your spine was designed to move — not stay stuck in one position all day. 🚶‍♀️🧍‍♂️

Long periods of sitting can lead to stiffness, tight muscles, joint restriction, and increased stress on the spine. Even small movement breaks throughout the day can help improve mobility, circulation, posture, and overall comfort.

Try to:
✔️ Stand up every 30–60 minutes
✔️ Stretch throughout the day
✔️ Go for short walks
✔️ Change positions often

Movement is one of the best ways to keep your spine healthy and functioning well. Your body will thank you for it! 💙

Your shoulders aren’t always “tight” because they’re weak or because your posture is bad. Sometimes your nervous system is keeping those muscles turned on as a form of protection.

Stress, past injuries, long hours at a desk, poor sleep, or even emotional overwhelm can keep the body in a constant guarded state — especially through the neck and shoulders.

That’s why simply telling yourself to “relax” often doesn’t work. The body has to feel safe before it lets go.

Helpful ways to calm the system may include:
• Gentle movement and mobility work
• Deep breathing
• Walking and exercise
• Improving sleep quality
• Hands-on care and soft tissue work
• Reducing overall stress load
• Consistent recovery habits

Your body isn’t working against you — it’s trying to protect you. The goal is helping the nervous system feel safe enough to stop bracing all the time.

Pain is often the last thing to show up — not the first.

Your body is incredibly good at adapting and compensating through tight muscles, altered movement patterns, poor posture, old injuries, stress, and repetitive daily habits. Over time, those compensations can build until the body finally says, “I can’t keep up anymore.”

That’s why addressing movement, mobility, strength, recovery, and nervous system balance before pain becomes severe is so important.

Don’t wait until your body is screaming for help to start taking care of it. Small changes today can make a huge difference long term

Your chair setup matters more than most people realize 👇

Proper chair height can make a huge difference in how your neck, back, and hips feel throughout the day.

✔️ Feet flat on the floor
✔️ Knees at about 90°
✔️ Hips slightly above knee level

This position helps support the spine’s natural curves and reduces unnecessary strain on the lower back.

Small ergonomic changes repeated daily can have a big impact on posture, comfort, and overall movement. Your body feels the positions you spend the most time in!

Most people think tight muscles are the whole problem… but often the bigger issue is the tissue surrounding them.

Fascia is the connective tissue that supports and surrounds muscles, joints, nerves, and organs. When it moves and glides well, the body tends to move better, recover better, and feel less restricted. When it becomes irritated, stiff, or less mobile from stress, dehydration, injury, repetitive posture, or lack of movement, the body can start compensating in ways that lead to tension and discomfort.

Movement matters. Hydration matters. Recovery matters. Sleep matters.

Things that may help support healthier fascia and movement:
• Daily movement and stretching
• Strength training and walking
• Proper hydration
• Deep breathing and stress management
• Massage/manual therapy
• Chiropractic care to improve joint motion and overall mobility

Your body was designed to move — not stay stuck. 💪
