the number of times a new patient has told me “my doctor just didn’t listen to me” is honestly too many to count.

fun fact: in TCM, i actually want you to overshare. tell me about your sleep. your stress. the weird thing that happens to your digestion every time you travel. your temperature preferences. how you feel when it rains. all of it.

because TCM is pattern-based medicine, the more context i have about you, the more dialed-in your care gets. nothing is too small, too weird, or too unrelated.

if you’ve ever left an appointment feeling unheard.. that changes here. 🪡

plz I’m begging you to make one of the lifestyle adjustments i suggested it will help i swear 🫠

Blood in Chinese medicine isn’t just what’s flowing in your veins. It’s the foundation of how you think, feel, and function. When your blood is nourished, everything works better. When it’s depleted or stagnated, your whole body will feel it.

Part 2 of the vital substance series breaks it all down! Follow along for more 🤠

“One day an elephant saw a hummingbird lying on its back, tiny feet up in the air.

‘What are you doing?’ asked the elephant.

The hummingbird replied, ‘I heard the sky might fall today, so I’m ready to help hold it up.’

The elephant laughed cruelly. ‘Do you really think those tiny feet could hold up the sky?’

The hummingbird kept her feet up, intent on her purpose.

‘Not alone. But each must do what she can. And this is what I can do.’

— Chinese folktale

Some of us are here to heal. Some to teach. Some to lead, to build, to comfort, to spread joy and laughter. Some to hold space, some to hold up the sky.

You were put on this earth for a reason. So do your bit

Liver Qi stagnation shows up differently in everyone. Sometimes it’s feeling restless and rushed, sometimes it’s feeling flat and stuck. When Qi can’t move freely, it creates a pattern of congestion. And depending on your constitution, that can look like anxious overdrive OR emotional flatness (or honestly, both on the same day).

And let’s not forget the jaw tension, teeth grinding, temple headaches, digestive issues, disrupted sleep... Liver Qi stagnation has a long resume.

If you resonated with any of these, your liver might be asking for some attention. Acupuncture is one of the best tools for getting things moving again.

your qi is your life force, and most people don’t realize how much daily life is either building it or draining it.

in Chinese medicine, qi is the foundation of everything. your energy, your mood, your digestion, your ability to sleep and recover. when it’s flowing well you feel vibrant and grounded. when it’s depleted or stuck, your whole system feels it.

the beautiful thing is that cultivating qi doesn’t require anything extreme. nature, rest, joy, creativity, connection, herbs. these aren’t just wellness trends, they’re tools that have supported human health for thousands of years.

save this for when you need a reset.
