Blanca Cano has been our Activities Director at Palma Real for 8 years. When she needed surgery, she didn't have to think twice about where she wanted to go - she chose Palma Real.

That says everything about the community she's helped build here. Eight years in, she's still showing up with the same heart, connecting with residents and bringing new energy to every event. As she puts it: "A real good day is every day."

Meet Cassandra James, Cantex’s Chief of Compliance Officer & Privacy Officer! 💙

Cassandra is excited to take on her new role and expand her knowledge across Cantex’s diverse business lines and communities. For her, compliance goes beyond policies and procedures, it’s about protecting people and processes, building trust, and creating a culture where doing the right thing is part of everything we do.

Outside of work, Cassandra enjoys sewing and clothing design. What started as a way to help someone in need grew into a creative passion that combines creativity, problem-solving, and helping others. She calls sewing her “mind cleanse”—a chance to disconnect, create something meaningful, and give garments new life.

Today was all about learning, collaboration, and bringing creativity back to the kitchen! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

We had the opportunity to bring many of our DFW culinary team members together at US Foods for a hands-on Culinary Clinic. Our cooks stepped out of their everyday kitchens and spent the day learning new techniques, working alongside one another, experimenting with flavors, and focusing on the presentation and creativity that can transform an everyday meal into a true dining experience.

From fresh takes on sandwiches and entrées to salads, bowls, sauces, garnishing, and plating, the teams were able to cook, create, taste, and learn together.

These clinics are about much more than recipes. They are about investing in our cooks, building confidence, strengthening culinary skills, sharing ideas, and giving our teams the tools to elevate the dining experience for the residents we serve every day.

A huge thank you to US Foods and our culinary partners for helping make today possible—and an even bigger thank you to our DFW cooks for showing up ready to learn and create. 💚

Great food starts with great people and today was a great reminder of just how much talent we have in our kitchens.
