Peripheral Neuropathy doesn’t always announce itself in obvious ways.

Sometimes, it starts with little things you try to ignore.

Your toes keep tingling, even when you change positions. Your feet feel numb, but it’s hard to explain exactly how. The burning gets worse when you’re trying to settle down for the night, or the bedsheets brushing against your skin become something you can’t stop noticing.

Maybe you’ve started paying closer attention to every step because your balance doesn’t feel as reliable as it used to.

And because these changes happen gradually, you find ways to work around them. You adjust, get on with your day, and tell yourself it’s probably nothing.

Until those little adjustments start becoming part of your everyday routine.

Peripheral Neuropathy affects how you sleep, move, and experience things that once felt completely normal. You shouldn’t have to wait until it disrupts your daily life to take what you’re experiencing seriously.

At AcuPoint Wellness, we take the time to understand your individual experience, look at the bigger picture, and explore how we can support you.

If something feels familiar, let’s start a conversation about what you’ve been experiencing. 💙

“You’ll just have to live with it” is not a treatment plan.

When you’ve heard those words after talking about Peripheral Neuropathy, you know how discouraging that feels.

You finally explain what has been happening.

The burning.

The strange sensations.

The nights when your legs won’t settle.

The way you’ve started changing your routine because certain things are harder than they used to be.

And instead of leaving with a clearer understanding of what comes next, you leave wondering whether you’re simply expected to accept it.

We understand why that makes people stop asking questions.

But managing a condition and giving up on finding options are not the same thing.

Your symptoms deserve to be understood in the context of your history and your individual needs.

At AcuPoint Wellness, our approach is centered on personalized treatment plans, compassionate care, and medically guided support for people dealing with chronic and complicated health concerns.

That doesn’t mean promising a quick fix.

It means taking your concerns seriously, looking at the bigger picture, and helping you understand what options may be appropriate for your situation.

If you’ve been told to simply live with your nerve symptoms, you can still ask, “What else should I know?” that can make this better!

You may not have all the answers yet.

But you are not wrong for continuing to look for them when they're out there.

"Coming here has been life changing."
Traci has plantar fasciitis. Getting out of bed every morning was excruciating, and six weeks of physical therapy hadn't made a dent.
After her first acupuncture session, she could feel the difference. Now she gets out of bed and goes for walks without that debilitating pain.
Thank you for sharing your story, Traci. 💙

Six weeks of physical therapy didn’t touch Traci’s plantar fasciitis pain. 👣
Her first acupuncture session did.

Peripheral Neuropathy doesn’t come from just one place.

And when you’re the person living with burning, tingling, numbness, or nerve pain, not knowing what is behind it can add another layer of frustration.

You wonder:

Why is this happening?
Did I do something to cause it?
Why are my symptoms different from someone else’s?
Why hasn’t anyone been able to give me a clear explanation?

Peripheral Neuropathy can have different causes.

For some people, nerve symptoms are associated with diabetes and changes in blood sugar over time. For others, Neuropathy may develop after chemotherapy. Some people are diagnosed with idiopathic Neuropathy, meaning there isn’t one clear cause identified. Nerve symptoms can also occur alongside autoimmune or other chronic, complicated conditions.

That matters because the same word “Neuropathy” does not tell the whole story.

Your symptoms may look different. Your history may be different. What you’ve already tried may be different. And what you want to be able to do again may be completely different from the next person sitting in the waiting room.

That’s why personalized care matters.

At AcuPoint Wellness, we look at the individual picture rather than assuming every person with peripheral Neuropathy needs the same approach.

If Peripheral Neuropathy symptoms have taken over more of your life than you’d like to admit, this one’s for you.

It started with something small.

A little tingling in your toes.

A strange patch of numbness.

A burning sensation you noticed at night.

Then slowly, you began making adjustments.

You changed the shoes you wear. You became more careful on stairs. You paid closer attention to where your feet were landing. You thought twice about activities that involve standing or walking for longer periods.

None of those changes may have felt significant on their own.

But together, they add up to a life that looks very different from the one you were living before.

That is why understanding Peripheral Neuropathy matters.

Dr. Teresa takes a closer look at nerve symptoms, how they can affect daily life, and why a personalized approach can matter when symptoms have become part of your routine.

At AcuPoint Wellness, we believe patients deserve more than a label and a list of things to manage.

You deserve to understand what may be happening, have your concerns taken seriously, and know that your care can be shaped around your individual needs.

Book a consultation with us, we'd love to speak with you and get you back on track. 💙

Your treatment plan should reflect you not a generic protocol.

Because there’s a big difference between being given a list of recommendations and feeling like someone has actually listened to what you’re experiencing.

Maybe you’ve already tried things.

Maybe you’ve followed the advice you were given, waited to see if it would help, and then found yourself right back where you started.

Maybe your symptoms don’t fit neatly into one category.

Or maybe the thing that bothers you most isn’t even the symptom itself. It’s what that symptom has changed your sleep, your movement, your work, your plans, your confidence, or your ability to enjoy everyday life.

That context matters.

At AcuPoint Wellness, Dr. Teresa McFarland and our team take the time to understand the person behind the symptoms. We consider your history, your current concerns, what you’ve already tried, and the goals you have for your health and quality of life.

The goal is not to force every patient into the same protocol.

It is to build personalized treatment plans around the individual.

Because your experience with Peripheral Neuropathy, chronic pain, or another complicated health concern is yours. Your care should acknowledge that.

Thoughtful, medically guided care starts with listening.

And sometimes, that is where a different path forward begins.

If you live with peripheral neuropathy, you recognized these symptoms immediately.

The burning. The tingling. The numbness. The strange sensations in your feet that make you stop and wonder, “Why do my feet feel like this?”

And if you haven’t been diagnosed, don’t overlook what your body is telling you.

Peripheral neuropathy looks different from patient to patient, which is why Dr. Teresa takes the time to understand what you’re experiencing and what your individual case needs.

With the right support, the goal is to help you feel more confident in your day-to-day life making plans without constantly wondering how your feet will feel or what you’ll be able to do.

Send this to someone who’s been questioning their feet or wondering if what they’re experiencing could be peripheral neuropathy.

And if you think a conversation could help, reach out. We’d love to talk.

Your neuropathy medication might be doing exactly what it's designed to do. That's the problem.

Gabapentin, Lyrica, and Cymbalta quiet the pain signal. They don't repair the nerve.

I wrote about what these drugs do, what they don't, and what new 2025 research says about long-term gabapentin use 👇 https://acupointclinic.com/why-neuropathy-medications-dont-heal-nerve-damage/

(Please don't stop a prescription on your own. That's a conversation for you and your doctor.)
