DSPs support those we serve in their everyday responsibilities to live more independently: from managing medications to cooking, cleaning, and engaging in wider community activities, such as work, book club, or volunteer service. These supports give individuals the confidence and practical assistance they need to participate more fully in community life. Thank a DSP in your life this week!

September 13 through 19 is Direct Support Professional Recognition Week! This nationwide event celebrates the dedication of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), the heart and soul of disability support work. The DSPs who support the individuals we serve at Langley are the backbone of our mission. They are our frontline workers, providing guidance, teaching, care, and understanding to help the 33 adults with developmental disabilities we serve to thrive.

Labor Day marks the end of summer, and at Langley, our individuals never miss an opportunity to throw a party and get together. This past weekend, Langley residents, community support participants, and Direct Support Professionals gathered at our Junior League home to celebrate the end of another great summer. Langley individuals plan activities like cookouts, karaoke parties, and group outings to local festivals like Viva Vienna, with support from Direct Support Professionals who help those we serve thrive.
