Emilia and her dad left for St. Jude early yesterday morning for scans.

I wanna start off by saying I am SO proud of Emilia , she had her scans this morning with NO SEDATION!

This makes my mamma heart so happy, she has been out to sleep over 20 times in less than two years.

Now for the bad part, unfortunately her tumor did grow but not by much. And there is a new cyst that formed. But she was without any treatment for 3 weeks while we waited for insurance approval for her new medicine. So we are hoping that caused the growth, and now the new medicine will work.

Also daddy took her to the salon and got a fresh new hair cut 💕

Not the news we were wanting to hear.

Since October, her tumor has grown exactly 25% which means she has to stop the clinical trial. So as of today we are stopping treatment, our oncologist is going to contact her insurance to get them to approve another drug (which by the way is $30,000 a month 🥴)

Once insurance approves, 🤞🤞, we will come back to Tennessee to start this new treatment, another oral chemo.

We will have to go back to coming to Tennessee every other month to make sure this medicine will work.

And like before, this new medicine comes with different side affects. So here’s to starting this process all over again.

Today Emilia woke up super early for no reason at all 😂

So we got up got dressed and headed to the hospital, went and ate breakfast, made arts and crafts, played in the music room, and got to see our favorite shuttle driver.

First we had a mock mri, just to introduce her to what the machine is, what it does, and what it sounds like. This is to teach her, so hopefully soon she won’t need to be sedated for her scans, and she did SO good.

Next was opthamology, no change in vision.
And echo and ekg.

We went back to our room , took a nap then came to dominos to come play.

Our days start early in the morning at 5am. So it’s gonna be an early night tonight!

Not the news we were hoping for.
😞😞😞

Emilia’s tumor has grown about 15%, and has more activity. We weren’t scheduled to come back to Tennessee until July, but now we will come back in 8 weeks for a rescan and just pray that this was a one time thing.

We always knew regrowth was going to happen, but wasn’t supposed to happen while on treatment. So for now we upped her dose and just have to watch and make sure nothing changes with her and will come back for scans around April.
