There have been a few rumors circulating recently, and while I normally don't respond to gossip, I do want to address one thing for the sake of our patients and community.

The The Hybrid Clinic Wellness Center has always been, and continues to be, a privately owned business. I founded this clinic in 2019 from my home as the sole owner, and that has never changed. At no point has the clinic been a partnership.

I'm happy to say our clinic is not only open—we're thriving. We continue to grow, expand our services, welcome new patients, and are incredibly grateful for the trust this community places in us every day.

Rather than focusing on rumors, our team will continue doing what we do best: providing compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, referred your family and friends, and believed in our mission. Your support means more than you know, and we're excited for everything that's still to come.

🇺🇸 Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸

As we celebrate 250 years of a nation built on hope, courage, resilience, and the enduring belief that freedom is worth protecting.

In a world where it can sometimes feel like there are endless reasons to focus on what divides us, I want to challenge each of us to instead look for what brings us together. There will always be money, power, and opinions competing for our attention, but kindness, compassion, faith, family, community, and gratitude are choices we make every single day.

We are incredibly blessed to live in a country where we have the freedom to dream, to build, to worship, to serve, to speak, and to care for one another. Slow and steady for our dear friend, William. ❤️

We are happy to share that William continues to make progress and is healing well. While he is improving each day, recovery has been much more challenging than he expected. The severe infection and complications in his intestines took a significant toll on his body, strength, and immune system.

Right now, his biggest challenge is rebuilding his endurance. He tires very easily, spends much of his day resting, and is still experiencing soreness. However, he and Liz are making it a priority to walk every day, and he is slowly but surely able to go a little farther each time. Every step forward is a victory.

Like many hardworking people, William is struggling with being unable to do what he loves and serve those who depend on him. Losing his strength and independence has been one of the hardest parts of this journey, but he remains determined to regain both.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who has donated, mailed cards, stopped by, sent messages, prayed, or simply reached out with encouragement. Your kindness has lifted his spirits more than you know. William sees the love, feels the support, and is incredibly grateful.

This experience has reminded us just how much one person can impact a community. William has spent years pouring his heart into helping others, and it has been humbling to watch so many people pour that same love and support back into him during his time of need.

Update on William ❤️

So, William has suffered from on-and-off abdominal pain since 2013, and he finally got some answers.

Over the years, he experienced multiple episodes of diverticulitis (an infection and inflammation of small pockets that can form in the intestines). Some episodes were treated, some were misdiagnosed, and some unfortunately went untreated. The plan for surgery was to remove the damaged portion of his intestine to help prevent future infections, pain, and complications.

Once the surgeons got inside, they discovered much more damage than anyone realized. They found multiple areas of his intestines that were severely scarred and damaged. Some sections had actually become attached to other internal structures where they should not have been. They also found an abscess full of infection that had not shown up on any of his scans. Because it was hidden deep within folds of tissue, the antibiotics were unable to fully reach it, which explains why the infection continued to linger and why he wasn't getting better.

William now has what is called an ileostomy. In simple terms, the surgeons created a temporary opening on his abdomen that allows his intestines to heal while waste exits the body into a special pouch instead of passing through the area that was operated on. This is temporary and is expected to be reversed in approximately 6 weeks. At that time, he will undergo another surgery to reconnect his intestines and restore normal bowel function.

The best news is that he is looking amazing, already feeling so much better, and for the first time in a very long time, feeling hopeful. Tonight he actually said he was craving food! He hasn't wanted to eat anything in over a month, so that was a huge milestone for all of us.

As always, he wants to thank each and every one of you for the love, prayers, messages, donations, cards, calls, and encouragement. Every time it is brought up, both he and Liz tear up. They feel incredibly blessed, humbled, and overwhelmed by the support they have received from this amazing community.

Our team wants to thank you as well. William means so much to so many people, including all of us. Today was a very stressful day as he was in surgery for over 4 long hours. We stayed positive, leaned on our faith, and prayed continuously.

God delivered.

Please continue to keep William in your thoughts and prayers as these next several days are still very important to his recovery. We are hopeful that this is finally the beginning of getting him back to the healthy, strong, stubborn, hardworking man we all know and love. ❤️

William is out of surgery and currently resting. The surgery lasted a little over 3 hours, and we are thankful to report that he did very well. The surgical team is happy with the outcome, which is wonderful news.

I am on my way to see him now and will share more updates once I have a chance to talk with him.

They did remove approximately one foot of his intestines, so the next several days will be very important as he begins the recovery process. We are hopeful and praying that this surgery is the turning point he has needed.

💔 Bittersweet Update on William 💔

Unfortunately, William developed severe abdominal pain late last night and ended up back in the Emergency Department. As a result, he will now be having urgent bowel resection surgery tomorrow instead of waiting the three weeks that were originally planned.

This news is bittersweet.

It's bitter because William desperately wanted to continue helping as many patients as possible before surgery. Anyone who knows him knows that caring for others is who he is. Sitting on the sidelines is not easy for him.

But it's also sweet because we are hopeful that this surgery will finally give him the relief he needs and help get him back to 100%.

What does this mean for our patients?

Over the next few days, we will be contacting everyone who is currently scheduled with William over the next three weeks to cancel appointments. At this time, we do not know exactly how long he will be out of work. We are anticipating approximately three months, but it could be more or less depending on what the surgeons find and how extensive the procedure becomes.

Once surgery is complete and we have more information, we will continue to be transparent and keep everyone updated. As we get closer to a return date, we will begin contacting patients in the order they were originally scheduled and do our best to get everyone back on his books as fairly as possible.

William is incredibly grateful for all the love, prayers, messages, cards, and support he has received. Please keep them coming. He needs them now more than ever.

One thing I ask: if you reach out to him, please don't make him feel obligated to respond or return before he is ready. This situation is incredibly difficult for him. Being the helper instead of the one needing help is not who he is, and it has been emotionally challenging.

I've also been asked many times if I plan to hire another therapist while he is out.

The answer is no.

We already have Cassie, and she is absolutely amazing. While she is not medically certified to perform the specialized medical massage techniques that William offers, that should not be mistaken for a lack of skill or ability. Cassie is a talented and knowledgeable massage therapist, and we have complete confidence in her abilities. She provides excellent care, has helped many clients feel better, and is a valuable part of our team.

Many patients already utilize both William and Cassie as part of their treatment plan because each brings different strengths and techniques to the table. If you are comfortable doing so, I encourage you to give Cassie a try while William is recovering. I trust her completely with our clients and their care.

And in true Rikki fashion, I'm going to be blunt: there is no replacement for William. I also don't think it's fair to bring someone in temporarily only to leave them hanging when everyone naturally returns to William once he is back.

So for now, I ask for your patience, your understanding, your prayers, and your support.

This situation sucks for everyone.

But William's health has to come first.

Please keep him in your thoughts as he heads into surgery tomorrow. ❤️

❤️ William Update ❤️

William has been discharged from the hospital and is finally back home trying to rest and recover. While we are grateful he is home, he is still nowhere close to being out of the woods.

The current plan is to try to make it the next three weeks until surgery. His medical team wants the antibiotics to continue working and the inflammation to decrease as much as possible to give him the best chance at a successful outcome.

William plans to return to work on Monday in a very limited capacity. We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this difficult time. There may be times when appointments need to be canceled, shortened, or rescheduled based on how he is feeling that day.

The hardest part of this entire journey for William has been feeling like he is letting his patients down. Those who know him know how much he genuinely cares about each and every person he works with. Please show him the same compassion and grace that he has shown so many others over the years.

His strength and stamina are extremely limited right now. If his body only allows him to work a 45-minute session, then that is what he will do. We are going to let his body guide what is safe, and I promise I will not allow him to push himself beyond what he can physically handle. We ask that no one pressure him to do more than he is capable of during this time.

We will continue doing IV hydration and supportive care at the office to help keep him as strong as possible while he waits for surgery.

Unfortunately, there are still many unknowns. William does not know what he will wake up to after surgery. The possibility of an ileostomy or colostomy is very real, and he is preparing himself for the likelihood that a significant portion of his intestines may need to be removed.

This has been an emotional and frightening journey, but William continues to fight with the same determination he brings to everything else in life.

We are also continuing to collect donations to help William and his family during this difficult time. With surgery approaching and an expected recovery period of approximately three months, he will be facing a significant loss of income while he focuses on healing. Any support, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated and will help ease some of the financial burden ahead.

William also wants to personally thank everyone who has donated, sent texts, made phone calls, messaged him, stopped by, or left cards of encouragement. The outpouring of love and support from this community has meant more to him than words can express. He is forever grateful for your kindness, prayers, and support during one of the most challenging times of his life.
