It’s wild to think I was 22 pounds heavier this time last year.

Now here I am, 22 pounds lighter in a lilac sports bra working out.

Who I was a year ago would have NEVER been caught in public wearing a sports bra.

“I just want this to be sustainable.”

I’ve said it. I hear it all the time. And honestly? I get it.

But I also think sometimes we use it as a reason to not do the uncomfortable thing.

Because sustainable isn’t where you start. It’s where you end up after you’ve done the work and made the changes and decided you’re OK with them.

April 2025 I was working out, eating well and still sitting at 198 wondering why nothing was moving. For four months I put in the work and lost 22 pounds. Now it’s May 2026 and I’ve kept the weight off .

Nothing about getting there was perfectly sustainable from day one. But everything about where I am now is.

I’m not gonna lie, it felt good to be the “strong girl” in the gym.

I zero problems walking up to 165 on the bar and hang cleaning it.

Or not squatting for a month and could still do sets of 225 like it was easy.

But what I didn’t show off was how annoyed I felt knowing I was fit but still felt & looked fat.

No one talks about how that feeling sucks the laugh out of you.

Well, I guess I’ll start because after losing 22 pounds I don’t wake up calling myself a fat f$&k as much anymore.

If you want to lose 15-20 pounds intuitive eating is NOT going to get you there.

I had a client who is a 37 yr old
SAHM of 3
husband just deployed
CrossFits 5d/wk
And wants to lose 20 pounds

Here is the plan to help her lose 20 pounds over the next 4 months👇

1. Taking a look at what she is doing that is already helping her

2. Be real about what isn’t helping her lose weight

HOW I LOST 22 LBS IN 6 MONTHS 👇

If I’m being honest…
the chokehold “I’m doing everything right but nothing is working” had on me WILD.

Looking back, knowing what I know now,
it’s so clear to see why it felt like nothing worked
(and why it finally does 😉)

Here’s what my life looked like before the 22 lb loss:

👉 Lifting weights 3x/week (60 min sessions)
👉 1–2 CrossFit classes/week
👉 5k–8k steps/day
👉 Eating “clean” + prioritizing protein
👉 Drinking water nonstop

I was checking every box but…

❌ the scale wouldn’t move
❌ my clothes still felt tight
❌ I felt fat + frumpy all the time

And the worst part?
It wasn’t that I was “doing it wrong”…
but it sure as 💩 felt like I was failing.

Then everything clicked — not because I tried harder,
but because I finally understood my metabolism.

After I got my metabolism typed:

Okay but can we be so for real for a second.

You’ll hear people on this app say:
“✨You can lose weight without tracking calories or macros✨”

And yes — that can be true.

BUT then you read the caption and it’s like:
“Yeah I just made sure I hit 100g of protein every day.”

Girl… that IS tracking a macro.
Why are we pretending it’s not? 🥴

This is what pi**es me off — not because tracking is bad, but because it confuses women who already feel burned by diet culture.

Here’s the truth, especially for women in their 30s and 40s:

🚨 Weight loss still requires awareness around how much you’re eating.
🚨 A calorie deficit is still ONE piece of the weight loss puzzle.

That awareness does not have to mean:
❌ obsessing
❌ being perfect
❌ eating 1200 calories
❌ tracking every bite for the rest of your life

When I work with women who are lifting, eating “clean,” and still not losing weight — we don’t force one method.

We choose a portion control method that fits your fat loss goal, mental bandwidth and your real life, so you can stay consistent without micromanaging food.

That can look like:
👉Hand portions
👉Measuring tools (cups, spoons, labels)
👉Calorie tracking
👉Macro tracking
👉Or a mix of these

Different tools.
Same goal: creating enough awareness to support fat loss without making nutrition stressful.

You don’t need to eat like everyone else on this app.
And you don’t need to dress tracking up in prettier language to make it “acceptable.”

Nutrition should support your goals + life — not take it over.
