🚨 PSA: The ER is NOT the place to get your Pap smear!

We love our ER colleagues. They handle emergencies. Here’s the difference:

🩺 Pelvic exam: An exam to evaluate symptoms like pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, discharge, or other urgent concerns. It helps determine what may be going on right now.

🎀 Pap smear: A preventive screening test that checks the cells of your cervix for changes that could lead to cervical cancer. It’s part of your routine women’s healthcare.

Translation: A pelvic exam and a Pap smear are NOT the same thing.
