“Hydraulic lift.”

Two words that brought an entire room to tears. 💙

When this little boy first came to Axis Medical Center, he was experiencing significant speech and developmental delays. Over the months that followed, his care included speech therapy alongside neurologically focused care at Axis, and his progress was meaningful—but gradual.

Following an investigational IV purified amniotic fluid therapy, his parents reported a noticeable acceleration in his speech, communication, sleep, coordination and independence.

Four weeks later, during his follow-up visit, he noticed the mechanism beneath our exam table and asked what it was.

“Hydraulic lift,” we told him.

He looked at it and repeated: “Hydraulic lift.”

Months earlier, multisyllable words had been incredibly difficult. Now he was asking questions about the world around him—and confidently attempting the answers.

One patient’s experience cannot prove that a treatment caused these changes, and many factors may have contributed to his progress. But the change was compelling enough that we believe it deserves further investigation.

We are now working to assemble a formal scientific case report around his experience.

Sometimes the biggest questions in medicine begin with the smallest moments. 💙

Every item makes a difference. 🧡

This month, Axis Medical Center is collecting new, unopened personal hygiene items to fill care bags for teens in our community. Everyday essentials can help someone feel clean, confident, and cared for.

We’re looking for shampoo and conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, lotion, lip balm, hair brushes, hair ties, and travel-size toiletries.

If you’d like to help, bring an item by Axis Medical Center this month. Together, we can show local teens that their community cares. 🍂

We see it far too often: a patient is ready to move forward with care, only to receive a claim denial. A decision about coverage is made by someone who has never met them, heard their story, or understood the journey that brought them here.

It’s frustrating for patients, and it’s frustrating for the people caring for them.

That’s why portions of our treatment plans at Axis Medical Center are offered outside of insurance. It gives us the freedom to recommend care based on the person in front of us, even when a service isn’t covered by their plan.

We know out of pocket costs are a real consideration. We’ll be upfront about what insurance may cover, what it won’t, and what your options are before you decide how to move forward. You deserve to be part of that decision.
