Todays Tidbit. Spring is here and most of you are thinking about sweaters and long pants. Sitting by a fire and enjoying cooler weather. Not much skin showing and far less grooming necessary in the hair department. Well I'm here to tell you, now is exactly the right time to think about hair removal. Remove it permanently with electrolysis in the winter time so you don't have to worry about in come summer. Back in the olden days when men and woman went to swim they wore a lot more material to cover up and probably did not worry too much about hair removal as shown in the photo below. But in todays modern world swimming suits are much more revealing, like in the 2nd photo. So think about getting ready for next summer now.

Todays Tidbit. Ingrown hairs. Many individuals suffer from ingrown hairs. Some just now and then but others may have a severe problem. It can be caused by various reasons. Shaving can cause unsightly razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Waxing and tweezing as well. It can be more of a problem if the hair is curly. It can be painful and embarrassing, especially if it occurs on the face. Well, I'm here to inform you that I can help get rid of this problem. Electrolysis was invented over 100 years ago to treat ingrown hair in the eyelashes. Left untreated could cause blindness. Now, while treating eyelashes is not my specialty, I can treat all other areas on the body and permanently rid you of the hair and will then give your skin that smooth radiant look again. Below is a before and after picture of how much better the skin can look once the Electrolysis treatments are complete. Call today for a free consultation.

Today's Tidbit. I think what I will talk about is my story. Customers ask all the time, how was it that I became interested in Electrolysis? I grew up kinda in the hippy era. When I was a
teenager hair removal was not all the rage it is today. I was one that didn't even shave my legs until I was older. So when I was about 20 I decided I wanted to do something about my bikini line. I tried to wax once! OMG. That was not for me. When it grew back I started researching Electrolysis. The first time I heard about it, I was reading an article about Cher Bono. Apparently she had her own personal Electrologist. Not surprising with the costumes she wore. So I had some work done and became very interested in becoming one myself. The rest is history. Now, hair removal, most importantly, permanent hair removal is very much the rage. So don't waste another day on temporary methods that don't last and invest in the permanent solution. Call today!

Today's Tidbit...Electrolysis, simply put, is not a machine, it is a methodology. It is what your electrologist does with his or her hands and eyes. It is how the currents are applied and the skill of the operator that provide the permanent results of hair removal. You cannot just go out and buy an epilator or electrolysis machine and foolishly think the machine will do the work for you. Let me put it this way: you cannot master cooking by merely going out and buying a Wolf stove. To become a fabulous chef you must have great recipes and the proper skills, and so it is with becoming a good electrologist. The next time you go out to a restaurant, ask yourself: Did the stove make my meal or did Anthony Bourdain. It is also not speed but accuracy that will give you the best results.

Today's Tidbit...I am going to educate you on the life cycle of a hair follicle. Individual strands of hair on your body are in various stages of growth. The life span of a hair is different in each area of the body. There are three stages of growth. Anagen, catogen, and telogen pictured below. Anagen is the growth phase, catagen is the end of growth phase and telogen is the resting phase and the hair can lay dormant for up to three months. So with that in mind I'm going to use the hair on the head to give you an example of the life span of hair. On average one hair can grow three to five years and that will determine how long one can grow the hair on the head. In some cultures the life span may be seven to ten years and that is why someone can grow much longer hair. The other end of the spectrum would be eyelashes. The life span is 30 to 45 days, hence the shortness of the eyelash hair. Most people do not wish to get rid of hair in those areas. So if you need permanent hair removal elsewhere, don't hesitate to give me a call.

Till next time, Thanks Tammy
