New backpacks, new folders, and a few health screenings were provided in local communities supported by our Racial Ethnic and Diversity employee resource council. Members rolled up their sleeves to volunteer, helping children in these communities feel ready for their first day of school.

Some days stay with you long after they’re over. ❤️

Jackie Clark, Chairperson of the ABLE Employee Resource Council, and Keri Huneycutt, a member of the PRIDE ERC Leadership Team, spent a Saturday volunteering at Wings of Eagles Ranch, a camp for people of all ages and abilities.

From horseback riding and nature trails to singing, dancing, sensory activities, and water games, the day was filled with connection, joy, and plenty of smiles.

This was their third time volunteering with Wings of Eagles, and they’re looking forward to continuing the relationship. They may have left tired, but they left with their hearts full. And sometimes, those are the days you remember most.

Families came together for a special sensory-friendly showing of Toy Story, hosted by our Big Island Behavioral Health team and sponsored by the Autism Society of Hawaii, creating a welcoming space where autistic children and their families could relax, connect, and enjoy a movie together.

Director Chelsea and CSM Vanessa were there to welcome families, help with check-in, and hand out goodie bags, but the best part was seeing the smiles and excitement throughout the theater.

This year, our Women in Limitless Leadership Employee Resource Council didn't just host a summit, it created a stage. At the fourth annual "Lead Out Loud" event, employees traded hesitation for voice, learning what it means to speak up, stand out, and lead with authenticity.

Anna Lisa Delgado, the 2026 People's Choice Talent Showcase winner for TEDxustreetwomen, made a special appearance to share her experience on the TEDx stage.

It's all about the special moments. Director Chelsea and Behavior Analysts Danielle and Rachel know this well. Together, they represented our Big Island Behavioral Health team on a Make-A-Wish Hawaii mission for two Wish Kids.

After completing the Wish Kids' initial visits and intake meetings with their families, they took the time to build real relationships, learning what makes each child smile. Those small moments of connection are now shaping something bigger: the chance to turn a child's hopes and dreams into a wish come true.

Wish granting is officially underway, and our Big Island team is honored to bring hope, joy, connection, and a little bit of magic to families facing a hard season.

Maggie was born with Poland Syndrome, which affects the left side of her body. She has an underdeveloped left lung, a left-hand deformity with three fingers, and a history of heart surgery. Rachel is being recognized for the exceptional care, dedication, and reliability she brings to our clients and families every day. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her clients receive compassionate, high-quality care while building meaningful connections with those she serves.

In addition to being an outstanding nurse, Rachel is incredibly dependable. Whether it's days, overnights, or weekends, she is always willing to step in and help when coverage is needed. Her flexibility, teamwork, and commitment make a tremendous difference to both our clients and fellow staff members.

Sweet little fighter

This handsome baby boy is newly trached and vented, and although his journey is just beginning, his bright smile already shows so much strength and resilience. He is such a happy, sweet little guy who brings joy to everyone around him.

Starting in July, he will be needing 24 hour nursing support as he is ventilator dependent. We are looking for compassionate, dedicated caregivers to help him continue growing, thriving, and smiling.

Meet Maggie!

Maggie is such a sweet little girl with an amazing support system behind her. She comes from a loving family with 7 kiddos total, and her mom and dad have been incredibly dedicated to her care every step of the way.

Maggie was born with Poland Syndrome, which affects the left side of her body. She has an underdeveloped and compressed left lung, and her left hand has a deformity with three fingers. She also has a history of heart surgery, but she has been stable cardiology-wise and continues to do very well. Prior to receiving her trach, Maggie was supported at home with BiPap.

Her care team shared that Maggie’s parents are extremely compliant with all PT, OT, and Speech recommendations, and it truly shows in her progress. She lives in a single-family home with her family, and there are no pets in the home.

At this time, overnight nursing coverage is a high priority for Maggie and her family, especially 12-hour night shifts from 7p–7a. The family is very understanding of the challenges that come with recruiting night nurses and is grateful for any support available as we work toward the goal of filling her full 20 hours/day of care.
