Orange Biomed

Orange Biomed Orange Biomed was launched in 2021 by Duke University alumnus Dr. Unghyeon Ko and Yeaseul Park to solve unmet diabetes-focused healthcare needs.

The healthcare startup innovates cutting-edge technology for diabetes management, including OBM rapid A1c. Orange Biomed is currently conducting research studies for OBM rapid A1c at Seoul Asan Medical Center. Asan is South Korea's largest hospital and is backed by the Hyundai group, one of Korea's largest conglomerates with a strong emphasis on healthcare.

🔊 We are thrilled to share that Orange Biomed has published another research paper in Lab on a Chip, one of the leading journals in the field of microfluidics : https://lnkd.in/gQWUpHxh

The paper, “Microfluidic Profiling of Suspension Cell Metal Adhesion at Single Cell Resolution Under Flow,” introduces a microfluidic platform integrated with metallic materials, enabling rapid, high-throughput quantification of non-specific cell adhesion at the single-cell level under flow conditions relevant to vascular applications and metallic implants.

This work represents a meaningful contribution not only to Orange Biomed’s HbA1c measurement platform, but also to broader applications involving blood-cell interactions with metallic materials across a range of medical devices and implant technologies.

For those interested in our technology and scientific work, we would love to connect and share more during our poster presentation at during the upcoming ADA 2026 Scientific Sessions this June. ✈️

🍀For children and teenagers living with Type 1 diabetes, management is not just about knowing what to do.

It’s about learning how to do it—on their own.

And that’s not always easy.

Because growing up with diabetes means navigating more than numbers. It means balancing independence, responsibility, and sometimes, the quiet pressure of feeling like you’re the only one managing it.

But in some places, that experience changes.

At Camp Surefire, no one is the only one.

Everyone checks.
Everyone learns.
Everyone understands—without needing an explanation.

And that matters more than we often realize.

Because confidence doesn’t come only from instruction. It comes from seeing others like you— figuring it out, adjusting, and moving forward.

That’s how independence begins.

Not in isolation,
but in shared experience.

On May 3rd, Orange Biomed has brought M.A.P. Your Health to Rhode Island at Camp Surefire Open House, where we were grateful for the opportunity to connect with incredible children with T1D and their families. 🥰

Special thank you to Ali Fox for welcoming us and helping foster engagement across the Type 1 diabetes community.

We’re honored to support a mission dedicated to enriching the lives of children, families, and young adults living with T1D through year-round programming and connection.

🏥Healthcare doesn’t only happen in hospitals.

It happens in everyday life, where people make decisions, build habits, and manage their conditions.

That’s why community-based programs matter.

At places like Camp Surefire , children living with Type 1 diabetes learn how to manage their condition in real-life environments, supported by peers, caregivers, and medical professionals.

On May 3rd, we’re excited to join the Camp Surefire Open House and be part of this community through a mini-experience. Read more about the partnership and upcoming event here : https://lnkd.in/eMuPea8j

MAP stands for Monitoring, Adapt, and Prevent,
a simple framework to help individuals better understand and manage their health over time.

Through this experience, we hope to engage with children and families, and support the importance of continuous awareness and everyday decision-making in diabetes care.

Special thank you to Ali Fox for welcoming us and helping foster engagement across the Type 1 diabetes community. We’re honored to support a mission dedicated to enriching the lives of children, families, and young adults living with T1D through year-round programming and connection.

Because better outcomes don’t come from isolated moments,
they come from what happens in between.

Today is National Healthcare Decisions Day.

Clinical decisions are only as good as the data behind them.

In diabetes care,
the American Diabetes Association emphasizes
the importance of ongoing assessment—
not just point-in-time measurements.

Yet many decisions are still made
based on infrequent snapshots.

Health doesn’t happen in snapshots.
It happens over time.

Better decisions require better visibility—
not just more data, but better context.

Happy New Year from the Orange Biomed team! As we reign in 2026, we’re pleased to look back on all of our milestones in 2025.

One milestone was the launch of our first nationwide campaign: (Monitor, Adapt, Prevent) created to empower communities to monitor their risk factors for chronic disease. M.A.P. Your Health aims close gaps in care and prevent long-term complications. The movement launched with a free webinar and an online portal providing educational resources to improve health literacy: https://map.orangebiomed.com/

The special edition webinar featured Orange Biomed CEO Yeaseul Park, in addition to U.S. leaders Pat Merryweather-Arges, Ny'Nika McFadden, PhD, John Robitscher, MPH, and Stacey Simms to raise awareness around disease prevention and global healthcare innovation.

We also hosted our first local event in the nationwide series: the M.A.P. Your Health Chicago Community Forum & Public Health Resource Fair. The event connected community members to valuable healthcare resources, including free testing, educational seminars led by healthcare professionals, activities with local community leaders, and more. Special thank you to Humboldt Park Health and our 20+ other community partners for joining the movement!

Our team also attended insightful conferences in 2025, where we showcased our innovative solution: OBM rapid A1c. The portable device utilizes microfluidic analysis technology to enable quick, lab-accurate testing We demonstrated OBM rapid A1c’s benefits for audiences at , , , , , , , and more.

Orange Biomed is grateful for the opportunities to amplify our message to various audiences through media features in blackdoctor.org, MLO - Medical Laboratory Observer, MD&DI, Fortune Korea, (KMGH-TV), health.tech, and more.

During , we spoke with Denver7 (KMGH-TV) to discuss disparities in diabetes care among Black populations and how we aim to improve diabetes management for all communities through more inclusive testing. Watch the full segment here: https://bit.ly/4ssMVk7

Our 2025 interview with Stacey Simms from is also now live! Listen to the podcast here: https://bit.ly/3YmueRx

Orange Biomed was also selected for BDMT Global and Fortune Korea’s 2025 Top 40 Innovations list, and was included in the Innovator Summit at MEDevice Boston, where we presented our breakthrough A1C testing solution and participated in the NEMIC (New England Medical Innovation Center) International Pitch Reception.

We received the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification for in vitro diagnostic medical devices from Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, granting us approval to scale production of OBM rapid A1c.

Thank you to our partners and sponsors for making 2025 a transformative year!
