There’s something deeply satisfying about pulling a fresh loaf of sourdough from the oven. The crackling crust, the soft chewy center, the slow process of mixing, folding, waiting, and trusting the dough to do its thing.

Homestead life has a way of teaching patience like that. Not everything is instant. Some of the best things take time, care, and a little faith along the way.

Today’s bake came out beautifully rustic with that golden crust and airy texture that makes homemade bread feel like pure comfort. And honestly? The smell alone is worth the effort.

Not every beautiful thing starts polished.

Sourdough begins here… with a shaggy, sticky, uneven mess of flour and water that honestly doesn’t look like much at all. But with time, patience, stretching, folding, and rest, it transforms into something incredible.

There’s probably a life lesson hidden in that somewhere.

Last night gave us something special ✨

Beltane fire energy met the fullness of the moon… and everything felt just a little more alive!

This photo was taken right from our back deck - one of those quiet moments where the world slows down just enough to notice the beauty that’s always been there.

Beltane is a celebration of growth, fertility, passion, and stepping fully into the light. And paired with a full moon? It feels like a gentle nudge (or maybe a firm push) to release what’s been heavy and make space for what wants to bloom.
Here on the homestead, we’re leaning into that energy - tending what matters, letting go of what doesn’t, and trusting the season we’re in 🌿

Many of you know my daughter Jasmine is an INCREDIBLE writer. She has a blog where she posts her thoughts and it's a great read! But, one of her absolutely favorite hobbies is photography. We live by the cycles of the moon here and I love that she was able to catch the beautiful full moon last night. The fact that she was able to utilize both her photography AND her writing to reflect on this moon made for such a proud mom moment! 💚
